Furry Friday

The following animals are available for adoption.  If you find an animal you’d like to adopt please contact the organization directly.  Lowell’s First Look does not assist with the adoption process.  And if you’re looking to add to your family and don’t see an animal below, each organization has additional cats, dogs, or farm animals looking for new homes.   Pet profiles and photos are provided by each organization.

Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary

Those involved with Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary take pride in finding the right home for dogs in their care. Here are their pets of the week.

Hi, my name is “Moose”. My D.O.B is 10/16/12. I love to cuddle with my favorite people and run and play outside. I’m a little picky about which dogs that I like to hang out with…I don’t like other male dogs. I’m looking for an active family that will continue to teach me new commands and will also have a physical fenced yard so I can run and play. I can be a little jumpy sometimes, so I would do best in a home with older kids. Please come see me soon!

When Quincy was young, someone tied him to a fence with a rope and a blanket, and just left him. His D.O.B. is 9/02/05. He was brought to MAS, and due to behavior issues at first, was not adopted. He is such a good boy. Knows his commands, sit, down, stay and come. He loves his treats, and spending time just hanging out in the adoption coordinators office. He really has never been introduced to children, so would be best in a home with retired individuals. He is a great walking companion. He just needs a home that doesn’t expect him to be great with other dogs, kids, cats. He is a great companion and dog that would keep you company.

Vicky’s Pet Connection

Vicky’s Pet Connection works with the Kent County Animal Shelter to rescue cats and kittens.  They also take in dogs older in age and those needing special care. Here are their pets of the week.

Surely you can figure out why Yoda’s name is Yoda. Yes, her ears! This lovely lady has lovingly raised her five kittens and is now looking for someone to care for her for a change. She’s a sweet girl who seems to get along with other kitties. She also has a very playful side. Hurry and meet this 2 year old girl!

This one is for you, siamese lovers! This is Sapphire and she is a 4 year old snowshoe siamese mix. Like most siamese, Sapphire knows what she likes and what she doesn’t! we think she would do best in a quieter home without other cats where she can rule the roost. She’s a beautiful girl and will do best in a home that understands this breed. Is that you?

Carol’s Ferals

Carol’s Ferals specializes in trap, neuter, return (TNR), but they come across “friendlies” who are available for adoption. Here are their pets of the week.

Come introduce yourself to our kittens, play with them, and get lots of love.  It’s fun and GREAT therapy!

Hi I’m Gerald.  I’m a muscular boy who loves to be petted.  Humans are my thing, not other cats.  I am FIV positive, but don’t let that bother you.  With care, I can be a long-time companion to my special human.

I am new to CF, but I fit right in almost immediately.  My name is Orson, and the volunteers are discovering my calm loving nature.  I’m laid back and don’t let the other cats affect me.  I settled in quite quickly, especially considering how many new cats I’ve had to meet.

My fur is so soft, they named me Sable.  I love being petted.  I will even swat at humans to get their attention.  I also enjoy chasing the red dot and running on the treadmill.  Got to keep my girlish figure.
