Furry Friday

The following animals are available for adoption.  If you find an animal you’d like to adopt please contact the organization directly.  Lowell’s First Look does not assist with the adoption process.  And if you’re looking to add to your family and don’t see an animal below, each organization has additional cats, dogs, or farm animals looking for new homes.   Pet profiles and photos are provided by each organization.

For additional information about each organization visit their websites or read our intro article to Furry Friday!

Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary

Those involved with Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary take pride in finding the right home for dogs in their care. Here are their pets of the week.

My name is Hannah. My D.O.B. is 5/02/16. I was found running the roads before I came to MAS. I am a petite young thing, and love to cuddle. I know how to sit, stay and come. I am okay in a crate. I love toys and like to run and play. I will need children that are older that can handle a dog jumping on them out of excitement.   I might need to be the only dog in the home as I get scared of other dogs.

Gullivar was a stray before he made his way to Mackenzie’s. He’s a typical young large dog, so he needs a big space to run and play. Gullivar likes some dogs and would do best in a home without a cat. He’s up to date with his vaccinations, neutered and ready go to his forever home.

Carol’s Ferals

Carol’s Ferals specializes in trap, neuter, return (TNR), but they come across “friendlies” who are available for adoption. Here are their pets of the week.

Yes, we still have Kittens!!  Come laugh, pet, play with, love, and enjoy kitten antics!  Carol’s Ferals has a colorful array of kittens – all need good, loving homes.

Monkey here (so named because my tail curls up like a monkey’s tail).  Anton and I have been together for a LONG time and are very bonded.  I am more outgoing and will beg for attention.  Poor shy Anton may put his ears back and hiss when you try to pet him, but he won’t bite and will even start to purr.  Deep down he really loves it, especially when you brush him.  My belly looks a little bare, because I’ve been excessively licking my fur.  I’m stressed from being with so many cats.  Anton and I could really use a patient loving home where we’ll be the only two cats.

I’m Q-tip!  See what a handsome guy I am?  I’m named after the white tip on my tail.  I have a lot of energy and love to play.  Not thrilled with other cats – too much competition – but may do well with one cat or a dog with patient introductions.

My name is Fredricka, but you can call me Freddie or Lady Fred like some volunteers.  I’m a lap cat extraordinaire.  I am somewhat shy and fearful of cats and dogs, but love humans, petting, and laps.  I would probably do okay with one of my roommates, since I know them.  If love is what you are looking for, come sit on the floor and I’ll curl up in your lap.

Vicky’s Pet Connection

Vicky’s Pet Connection works with the Kent County Animal Shelter to rescue cats and kittens.  They also take in dogs older in age and those needing special care. Here are their pets of the week.

This handsome guy is Sebastian and he is a 5 year old wonderful cat. He’s got a lot of love to give for certain. He came to us declawed on all 4 feet so if that is something you need for some reason, maybe he is the one for you!

Wow, somebody better check to see if the Egyptian pharaohs have lost a cat because this girl has got to be from royal blood! This gorgeous beauty is Sadie and she is as elegant in person as she is in her photos! This 2 year old just finished raising a litter of kittens and already she has her figure back! She was a terrific mom but now deserves to be pampered and adored like any Egyptian queen should be. How about it? Are you ready for royalty?
