Betten Baker Buick GMC Celebrates Grand Opening

It was a year in the making and last night, Betten Baker Buick GMC officially opened their new showroom at 749 W. Main Street. The dealership held a short ribbon-cutting ceremony at 6pm as part of an open house that ran from 5pm-8pm.

During the open house, visitors were invited to walk around the building and enjoy a catered meal.

Charlie Jeffrey, director of operations, says the new building is the latest design from Buick GMC. The multi-million dollar project takes the dealer’s new car lot from the north side of Main Street to the south side and provides a central location for service and parts.

In total, the new building is 16,600 square feet and includes 15 service bays. There is ample seating in the showroom and a comfortable lounge area for those waiting on a vehicle. The business currently employs 30 people, and Jeffrey says they could still use more service technicians.

“Our parts department is three times larger,” Jeffrey says. “We have all the latest equipment.”

Up next for Betten Baker Buick GMC is a renovation of the building on the north side of Main Street. “That building will be for used car sales and the body shop,” according to Jeffrey. The current body shop south of Main Street will eventually be demolished to provide more display space for new cars.
