Although Mother Nature has been moody so far in 2017 in a few weeks, according to the calendar, spring will arrive. With that an eagerness for being outside, hitting the beach, and planning a vacation replace thoughts of sledding and building snowmen. A Charmed Life Nail Salon is opening a second location just in time to help prepare feet for sandals and flipflops and hands for holding a fruity beverage or beer.
Nailed It
Owner Kristine Gault opened her first store with a handful of employees, which has turned into 20 due to growth over the years. Gault replied, “I opened A Charmed Life 9 years ago in Rockford. Manicures and pedicures have always been a favorite treat of mine.” when asked why she decided to open her own business. “I have a business degree and thought that I would like to make a shop with just nails that is comfortable and affordable.”
Looking to open a second location Gault Lowell was the destination based on a few factors. She says it’s similar to Rockford when it comes to being a small community with an “old Main Street feel”. And becoming business neighbors with a friend is a bonus. Teneille Peterson, who opened Lennon & Willow in 2016, has shared her success stories. “We believe we have similar customers that would enjoy having a manicure and pedicure place right in downtown Lowell.” says Gault regarding her future patrons.
Pampered Fingers and Toes
Pedicures are the most popular service according to Kristine. The entry level Spa Pedicure is $30 however the A Charmed Pedicure is the most popular and includes a sugar scrub, body butter, and paraffin dip for $46. With a plentiful selection of scents to choose from customers can customize their experience. A full list of available services can be found on their website.
Six pedicure chairs and six manicure stations in an inviting atmosphere welcome guests. Walk in appointments are welcome but making an appointment is suggested to ensure there’s an opening. Groups and parties are also encouraged by appointment and arrangements can be made for after hours if needed.
Kristine has had a positive experience getting the location ready to open, including working with city officials and contractors. She’s eager to get to know community residents and other businesses.
Welcome to Main Street
A Charmed Life will open its doors on Thursday, March 2. Hours of operation will be Wednesday 10-6, Thursday 12-8, Friday 10-6, Saturday 10-5, Sunday 12-5 and closed on Monday and Tuesday.
