Community Invited to Property Party this Sunday

Impact Church is hosting their second annual Park Party.  Although this year the name and location have a slight change.  On Sunday, October 1 from 3 pm to 6 pm you’re invited to participate in games, food, and entertainment.  Special deals on a meal will be available but otherwise the event is free of charge.  The Property Party will be located on the land of Impact’s future building.

Celebrating a New Home
Impact Church has secured the purchase and approval to build on land in Lowell Charter Township across from Meijer.  Their current location on Lincoln Lake has become too small to the extent of having a temporary campus located at Cherry Creek Elementary School in order to serve its members.  However, according to Executive Pastor Ryan Kresge, March 2018 is the anticipated groundbreaking date for their new building which will take a year to be completed.  “Currently, we feel like a commercial building in a residential location.  [There is] overcrowding in our existing space adult space, overcapacity for our children’s ministry and lack of parking availability in the area of our current building.” says Kresge of the need for more space.  He has experience in commercial building prior to taking on his role in Impact’s ministry and has been played an integral part in securing the new location.  .

Last year was the first year the Park Party was hosted by Impact Church and was held at Fallasburg Park.  Over 2,000 people attended and approximately 125 volunteers helped make the event run smoothly.  This year’s change from Park Party to Property Party is a means to celebrate their new space.  Those who come to the party are invited to bring blankets and chairs and relax while listening to live music or having a bite to eat.  Big kid games, a tot’s tent, bounce houses and more will entertain kids of all ages.

A Positive Role in the Community
Sarah Cooper, lead planner for the party working with Community Life Pastor Jon Bell, says Impact Church strives to reach out and get to know the people who live and work here and show love within the community.    “The Park Party is a great way to promote an immediate sense of belonging to families and individuals.” she says.  Cooper also hopes the annual Park Party will become a community tradition such as Christmas Through Lowell, the Pink Arrow game, the Showboat Concert Series, and annual festivals.  The Lowell Area Chamber of Commerce awarded Impact with their Outstanding Community Service Award because of the effort surrounding Love Week.  Impact also hosts Art Explosion each year, giving kids the opportunity to learn, socialize, and experience the arts through a camp.

The annual Park Party is a means to bring the community together.  Members of Impact Church are able to provide and show kindness in what Cooper calls a ‘no strings attached’ philosophy.  Part of showing love is letting others experience it.  Some involved with Impact Church also take on leadership roles in KidsGames and Construct Lowell Area Youth, taking another step in the church’s idea of giving back through sharing love in the community.

Sharing and Showing Love
Impact Church’s effort to contribute to the community is making a difference.  They continue to grow and with this need to expand into a new, bigger building.  Ryan Kresge comments, “Our desire in moving specifically to the new location is to help contribute to Lowell’s aesthetic attraction as people enter and exit our town, economic increase by adding traffic to the commercial zone and better ‘fit’ the behavior patters of the surrounding facilities.”  As a unit and individual members, Impact has helped make the Lowell community a better place.

Everyone in the community is invited to this year’s Property Party.  Connect with people you already know and make some new friends.  A variety of activities, entertainment, and food is sure to make the event enjoyable for all.  Saturday, October 1 from 3 pm to 6 pm in the field across from Meijer is the place to be.
