Discover Unique Holiday Treasures at the Lowell Arts Artist Market

If you’re looking to add some sparkle to your holiday shopping or find that perfect gift, make your way to the Lowell Arts Artist Market, running now through January 11. Located at 223 W. Main Street, this annual tradition showcases the talent of more than 50 Michigan artists, offering a vibrant mix of handmade art and crafts.

A Celebration of Local Talent

The Artist Market has been a highlight of Lowell Arts for years, growing alongside the organization and thriving in its Main Street location since 2016.

Executive Director Janet Teunis shares her excitement about this year’s market, saying, “Our artists work across a wide spectrum of mediums, including pottery, paintings, jewelry, fiber arts, glasswork, woodworking, leathercraft, metalwork, and handmade soaps.”

Having had the chance to visit the market myself, I was completely in awe of the incredible talent on display. From delicate ceramic Michigan ornaments to breathtaking works by local photographers, each piece is crafted with care and creativity. It’s impossible not to feel inspired while browsing the aisles filled with such a wide variety of artistic treasures.

New Twists on Tradition

This year’s Artist Market has something extra special to offer: extended dates. The market will remain open after the holidays, giving shoppers until January 11 to pick up those last-minute gifts or start the new year with a unique find.

And if you’re wondering how these incredible artists are chosen, Teunis explains that there’s an application process in which artists are selected based on the quality of their work and its appeal to buyers.

Teunis sums it up beautifully: “We’re looking forward to connecting our talented Michigan artists with community members and visitors who appreciate handmade art.
