Lowell Showboat Sizzlin’ Summer Concert – Gunnar and the Grizzly Boys

June 17 @ 7:00 pm

The Lowell Showboat Sizzlin’ Summer Concerts are presented by LowellArts and the Lowell Area Chamber of Commerce. Thursday evening concerts begin at 7:00pm along the Flat River on the Riverwalk Plaza in downtown Lowell. Concerts are family-friendly and wheelchair accessible. Bleacher seating is available, or bring a chair. Admission to the concerts and parking are free. Enjoy Lowell’s Social District for your adult beverages. Concessions also available for purchase.

June 17 – Gunnar and the Grizzly Boys
As American as apple pie, Gunnar & The Grizzly Boys make country music with honest storytelling that travel straight from the northern pines of Michigan to your local honky-tonks.

June 24 – Lighten Up Francis
A West Michigan band serious about having fun, Lighten Up Francis will keep you on your feet with the songs you love and digging deep to cover many you won’t hear from others.

July 1 – Sam’s Swing Band
Sam’s Swing Band plays music ranging from Glenn Miller to Henry Mancini to more current big band charts, bringing the people of Michigan the healing power of big band music.

July 8 – The Soul Syndicate
The Soul Syndicate pays tribute to the most influential R&B artists of our time in vintage fashion – with a sophisticated look, masterful musicianship, and a crowd-pleasing act designed for the festival stage.

(Friday) July 9 – The Bronk Bros.
A blue-collar work ethic, big dreams, and a grassroots attitude has gained the Michigan-based brother duo, The Bronk Bros. and their band respect in the Midwest music scene. Modern day honky-tonkers, and brothers, Heath and Brian Bronk front the band with engaging stage energy.

July 15 – Paradise Outlaw
Paradise Outlaw is an Americana band from Grand Rapids with a good-time, soulful sound and relatable songs that are refreshing yet familiar.

July 22 – Soul Access
Soul ACCESS is a West Michigan band made up of seven veteran professional musicians who are adept at Jazz and Blues, as well as being fans of classic Pop and Soul standards.

July 29 – Madcat Midnight Blues Journey
Madcat Midnight Blues Journey is a Michigan-based band that brings seasoned stage presence and improvisational exuberance to standard and obscure Blues tunes, Folk and Jazz melodies, and original music.

August 5 – Melophobix
The goal of Grand Rapids-based Melophobix is to remain stylistically cage-free and continue to record genre-bending songs that simultaneously dip into the sauces of several scenes in today’s music world.

August 19 – Escaping Pavement
Hailed as “The most dynamic Americana group out of Detroit, Michigan,” Escaping Pavement masterfully blends and blurs the lines of Bluegrass, Folk, and Americana.

August 26 – Nicholas James and the Bandwagon
Not easily put into a musical box, Grand Rapids-based Nicholas James and the Bandwagon has created their own brand of music they refer to as “Hippie Tonk” that falls somewhere in between Folk and Country, with a solid dose of Rock and the occasional Reggae, Cajun, or World Beat mixed in.
