LowellArts: Needle Felted Snail Class

$37These cute little snails are a perfect project for those interested in learning how to needle felt as well as those with experience. Class instruction includes wool types used, needle safety precautions and proper use, forming shapes using core wool, adding exterior wool, and joining pieces together. Demonstration and examples will be provided, as well as plenty of wool batting colors to choose from. Each snail will vary in size, from approx. 3”-4” in length.
Instructor: Samantha Coon
Ages: 10 to Adult
Materials Needed: All materials provided.
Class Fee: $37 ($33 for LowellArts Members). Fee includes materials.
Samantha Coon is a self-taught artist, working in both wet and needle felting. She was introduced to felting in 2009 while living in mid-coast Maine. She has taught classes to both children and adults that include projects using resists, both sculptural and wearable, surface design techniques, working with pre-felts, and introductory needle felting.
