Flat River Gallery & Framing will hold its annual celebration of their opening this Saturday, February 9. From 1pm-3pm they will host a Champagne and Chocolate reception along with an artist reception for Linda Laughter.
Promoting a Community of Art
For the past six years Flat River Gallery & Framing has shared the work of their gallery members. There are currently 24 artists represented in the gallery. “Many are award-winning artists, recognized both nationally and internationally. Several of our artists have had their work displayed in ArtPrize and 10 of artists participate in the International Society of Experimental Artists.” according to Kimberly Gill, gallery member and Vice President of the gallery co-operative.
Two years ago the gallery collaborated with LowellArts to bring Chair-a-tee to Lowell, which raised more than $5,000 for Pink Arrow. Gallery artists continue to think of ways to promote art in the community as well as raise awareness for local non-profit organizations. Members also spend time working in the gallery throughout the month creating “an amazing artist community and gallery” according to Gill.
A wide range of art is available at Flat River Gallery & Framing. A variety of styles, mediums, subject matters, and products available makes it easy for anyone to find something of interest when visiting. If someone is eyeing a particular painting but wonder how it will look in a particular room of a home, the gallery will work with customers allowing them to take a piece home in order to try it out before committing to a purchase.
And, as their name suggests, custom framing is available as well for those in need of such a service. Deidre Wingelaar, one of the gallery’s founding members has over 30 years experience in the framing business.
Those looking for a form of art which isn’t hung on a wall, Flat River Gallery & Framing also offers works from artists who offer photography, jewelry, pottery, warm weather gear, bath and body products, and more. Cards and prints of artwork is also available.
