FROM February Volunteer of the Month

We received the following information from Flat River Outreach Ministries regarding their February volunteers of the month.

For February we want to recognize those that volunteer at the cash register in Treasures Thrift Shop. We currently have nearly 90 volunteers that run the cash register. Some work weekly, monthly, over school breaks and others work multiple days and shifts. Pictured above is just a small portion of these wonderful volunteers (left to right: Phyllis Ewing, Barb Meyer, Kathy Barnum, Barb Smith, Carolyn Comeax, Fran Walling, Sue Bieri, and Joe Schab).

These are the folks that greet customers when they walk in the doors at the thrift shop, they make sure all purchases are rung up properly, bag items and help ensure customers have a positive experience in the store.

Over the last year, this team has learned how to use a new cash register system and have helped trouble shoot ways to keep improving including adding bar codes to many items to simplify the process and also provide ease for customers.

Cashiers put in over 90 hours each week and we are always looking for more people to help out in this vital role. This dedicated group of volunteers help make shopping a great experience for each Treasures Thrift Shop customer and raising funds for programs. Thank you all for all you do!
