Fun with FROM: Kelly Glas

In a new series, Flat River Outreach Ministries will be introducing the community to some of the people involved with the organization. We will be sharing information posted on their Facebook page.
This week meet Kelly our Healthy Food Coordinator! Kelly joined us in 2020 – just as the pandemic started is responsible for all of our food programs. You may remember Kelly from this video where she showed her enthusiasm for the food pantry renovations in January! Kelly oversaw all the planning of that project and we are so thankful and proud of all of her hard work, along with the hard work of so many volunteers! Let’s get to know Kelly and what she loves about #FlatRiverOutreachMinistries!
How did you get involved at FROM?
I first heard of FROM through a college professor, Victoria Johnson Fleenor who was involved with FROM. Through her connection I was able to fulfill a three month internship working in Treasures Thrift Shop as well as in the Food Pantry.
What’s your favorite FROM Program?
Food Pantry, of course! I love how we are able to supply the basic need of food for so many families in our community and that we are able to focus on access to good food no matter what.
What do you love about the Greater Lowell Community?
I love how the Lowell community comes together to support our neighbors in need. Whether it be shopping at Treasures in order to fund our other programs, spending time volunteering, or donating food/resources to keep our pantry shelves stocked.
What’s a random fact about yourself?
I love to be outdoors! Whether its tandem biking with my husband, reading out in my hammock, or even paddle boarding!
If you are looking for an opportunity to give back, a summer internship, or just looking to shop for some new to you items, keep #FlatRiverOutreachMinistries in mind!
