Furry Friday

The following animals are available for adoption.  If you find an animal you’d like to adopt please contact the organization directly.  Lowell’s First Look does not assist with the adoption process. And if you’re looking to add to your family and don’t see an animal below, each organization has additional cats and dogs looking for new homes.   Pet profiles and photos are provided by each organization.

For additional information about each organization visit their websites or read our intro article to Furry Friday!  The following pet profiles are provided by each rescue.

Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary

Those involved with Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary take pride in finding the right home for dogs in their care. Here are their pets of the week.

I’m Joplin! I’m a two year old rottweiler mix. I’m a super sweet girl that absolutely loves attention and toys! I could play with a rope toy all day long – with breaks for some cuddles, of course! I’ve done well with the kids I’ve met here so far, but with my size, older kids might be best. I did well on my cat intro too, and have done well meeting other dogs. Fill out an application and mention me!

Joplin, an adoptable Rottweiler Mix in Lake Odessa, MI

My name is Indie-Anna-Jones. My D.O.B is 5/9/14. I love spending time with people and will try to be a lap dog if you let me. I would do best in a home without any small animals, including kitty cats, I just am not the biggest fan, and will display prey drive. I love to follow my nose, so I do need a home with a physical fenced yard. I absolutely love toys – especially ones that squeak! I do like to shred them though. I love to be active and need a family that can get me out for walks and play time. I am good at running next to the golf cart up and down the roads at Mackenzie’s.

Vicky’s Pet Connection

Vicky’s Pet Connection works with the Kent County Animal Shelter to rescue cats and kittens.  They also take in dogs older in age and those needing special care. Here are their pets of the week.

There is a reason so many people LOVE male, orange tabby cats…..they just seem to always be awesome cats! “Woodson” is a great example of a super friendly, happy and affectionate orange tabby. At 6 years of age, he is a laid-back and loving guy who just wants to let his people know how terrific they are. You really need to meet this fellow!

Carol’s Ferals

Carol’s Ferals specializes in trap, neuter, return (TNR), but they come across “friendlies” who are available for adoption. Here are their pets of the week.

Hi, I’m Dyaenna. I’m approximately 7 years old and have been at Carol’s Ferals since January 2018 when I rescued with over 100 other cats from a barn. I’m a shy girl who prefers to sit and watch from the sidelines. I will accept pets and give the occasional headbutt. I am also FIV+, but I can live very well with other cats that are not.

Hi, I’m Lance! I’m a friendly, gentle boy looking for my furever home. I love to buddy up with my roommates and if you give me wet food, you will have a friend forever! I’m FIV positive, but I can live with other cats who are not! I have these cute little chipmunk cheeks and always look like I just got caught with my hand in the cookie jar! Come meet me!

Hi, I’m Quinn. I’m pretty shy, but aren’t I gorgeous? I’m looking for a home where people can help me to come out of my shell and be patient with me. I am FIV+, but I can live very well with cats that are not.

Hearts of Hope Dog Rescue

Hearts of Hope Dog Rescue look to find dogs and sometimes cats in their care forever homes with the help of foster homes.  Here are their pets of the week.

Blubell is a one and a half year old Staffy Lab Mix who loves to lay in the grass and soak up the sun in her beautiful eyes !! This sweet kid has had a very rough start to her life. She’s incredibly shy at first, but when she knows her humans she loves them fiercely, and she enjoys being their shadow. Blu would do best in a home as either the only dog, or with a smaller, more laid back dog. She does well with kids and cats, but we recommend a very calm home without a lot of noise or distractions. Blu is going to need a very special home with patient, loving humans to continue building her confidence and making her feel comfortable, supported and loved. She is such a special girl and she deserves the best home. Bluebell is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on shots. Her adoption fee is $200. Luke is 10 years and 10 pounds of cuddly, laid back awesomeness! This sweet kid has a very pleasant personality and he’s exceptionally smart. Luke is house trained, crate trained, and he knows many basic commands. He loves snuggles, ice cream, and the first few seasons of The Jetsons! Luke is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots. His adoption fee is $150. To adopt this adorable chihuahua mix apply at www.rescueofhope.com/adoption-application
