Furry Friday

The following animals are available for adoption.  If you find an animal you’d like to adopt please contact the organization directly.  Lowell’s First Look does not assist with the adoption process. And if you’re looking to add to your family and don’t see an animal below, each organization has additional cats and dogs looking for new homes.   Pet profiles and photos are provided by each organization.

For additional information about each organization visit their websites or read our intro article to Furry Friday!  The following pet profiles are provided by each rescue.

Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary

Those involved with Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary take pride in finding the right home for dogs in their care. Here are their pets of the week.

My name is Nori. I love life and all in it. I am a calm and loving girl. I would do best with older kids, due to loving my food so much. I’m a full figure type of gal. I love to play and still like to spend time with my family. I am smart and know all my commands. Walking and playing and just hanging out, are my favorite pass times.

Nori, an adoptable Rottweiler in Lake Odessa, MI

My name is Montana! As you can see from my pictures, I’m one happy girl! I’m only about 7 months old, so I’m still very much a puppy. I love getting out, meeting new people, and seeing and doing new things! I even like to play a little fetch! Running after toys is a lot of fun, and I’m gotten a lot better at bringing the toys back…and patiently waiting for it to be thrown again. I still have a lot to learn, so a family that wants to go on all those adventures with me would be perfect. I’m a bit of a smarty pants, so a class with my new family sounds like fun to me too!

Hearts of Hope Dog Rescue

Hearts of Hope Dog Rescue look to find dogs and sometimes cats in their care forever homes with the help of foster homes.  Here are their pets of the week.

Ramona is a large lady on the search for her forever home! With Ramona, you won’t be dealing with any puppy-nonsense like tearing up furniture or using your house as a bathroom, cuz as a 5y/o adult, she understands how to conduct herself. She is a very laid-back gal who appreciates things like dog beds, blankets to lay on and bones to chew. She enjoys her morning walk (walks great on leash, but do note she is very strong and can pull you over to something if she wants to), and then happily naps the rest of the day. Ramona has never met a stranger; she loves everyone she meets! She would be an excellent candidate for a take-to-work companion (rides well in the car), or even doing therapy work! She can go to a home with other pets, but only wishes to coexist and not be a play-partner. She would do fine as an only pet as well. Do consider the slobber-factor with the mastiff-side of her makeup! She is a messy drinker and will need her mouth wiped after she drinks, along with your floor by the water dish. She was found as a stray, and was quite skinny at intake; she is working on gaining weight as well as growing back fur in patches she lost due to flea allergies. Ramona is spayed and microchipped, and will be a wonderful addition to any family that loves XL breeds!
Her adoption fee is $250. To adopt Ramona apply at www.rescueofhope.com/adopt

Phil is a 9 month old staffy mix who is looking for his new best friend. Phil is completely house and crate trained and knows several commands. He even rings a bell when he needs to go outside. We don’t know how he found time to learn these things with his busy modeling career … but he’s pretty amazing. Phil cannot go on enough walks or car rides because they are his favorite things. Ever. Seriously. The idea of going for a run makes him giddy with joy. Phil isn’t into sharing his people so he needs to be an only dog. At over 50 pounds (and still growing), his size and energy level would be best for adults or a home with teenagers. He is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots. Thanks to a Green Dog Photography Phil’s adoption fee is covered. To adopt Phil email [email protected] for an adoption application
