Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary

Those involved with Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary take pride in finding the right home for dogs in their care. Here are their pets of the week.

I’m Kodi! My birthday is 3/22/13. Being a little older, I’ve really learned to appreciate all the little things – but my two favorite things are being outside, and cuddling up with my people. The staff and volunteers here have worked on my walking skills, and one of them has even worked with me on being a great running partner (she tells me I’m a perfect running buddy, and I’m inclined to believer her…)! I can definitely keep up at pretty good pace, but when it’s time to take a break, I’ll admit I can be a bit of beach bum. Sometimes it’s nice to just sit back, and take it all in.

While I get to live out my dream every day of walks and playing outside, it all would be so much sweeter if I had a forever friend to wake up and hit the trails with every day. Fill out an application and mention me!

While shy at first, Charity is a super sweet girl, and still quite young with a birthday of 3/2/18. It takes her a little while to warm up to new people and things. Going slow with her is the key, and once she warms up, you’ll be rewarded with a real loyal friend! She has a very affectionate and goofy side that she reserves for those she trusts. It takes some patience, but it’s certainly worth it! Charity would need to be the only pet in the home. If you’re interested in adopting Charity, please go to www.mackenzies.info to read about our adoption process & to fill out an adoption survey and application.

Hearts of Hope Dog Rescue

Hearts of Hope Dog Rescue look to find dogs and sometimes cats in their care forever homes with the help of foster homes.  Here are their pets of the week.

Betty is a beautiful 1 year old lab mix. She has the heart of a puppy and is the sweetest soul you’ll ever meet. Betty didn’t have the best start to life, but you’d never know it from her constant smile. She came to us from Louisiana with a slight limp. We visited an orthopedic surgeon and had x-rays done. Betty has a some issues with her front leg and hips. It could be genetic, but we’ll never know the cause. Surgery wasn’t recommended at this time, but could definitely be needed in the future. We’re providing daily pain meds for her comfort and supplements to help her joints. Betty absolutely adores every dog she meets and couldn’t be more excited to meet all the people! Betty doesn’t let her legs slow her down or affect her joy for life. She would do well in a home with dogs and people of all ages, but should be kept on the calm side, so the best fursiblings for her would be calmer dogs. Her ideal home would be happy to snuggle on the couch and keep her activity to a minimum and provide the best veterinary care possible. If you are looking for the kindest dog out there, and are able to provide the special care Betty deserves, please apply for her. Her adoption fee is $200.
