Furry Friday

The following animals are available for adoption.  If you find an animal you’d like to adopt please contact the organization directly.  Lowell’s First Look does not assist with the adoption process. And if you’re looking to add to your family and don’t see an animal below, each organization has additional cats and dogs looking for new homes.   Pet profiles and photos are provided by each organization.

For additional information about each organization visit their websites or read our intro article to Furry Friday!  The following pet profiles are provided by each rescue.

Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary

Those involved with Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary take pride in finding the right home for dogs in their care. Here are their pets of the week.

Two tends to be better than one, and that’s definitely true for Lilly and Chase!

Lilly and Chase are two wiggly playful pups who also happen to be the best of friends. From what we can tell, they haven’t spent much time apart, and would be happiest finding a forever home together. Even though Lilly has a track record of being always on the go, she’ll zip on over for some attention and some scratches. Long walks and treats are the way to her heart for sure!

Vicky’s Pet Connection

Vicky’s Pet Connection works with the Kent County Animal Shelter to rescue cats and kittens.  They also take in dogs older in age and those needing special care. Here are their pets of the week.

I’m Bishop and I have a sister named Brandi. We are a pair of 14-16 week old kittens who are ready to make our way out into the world! We’re a little shy at first but warm up quickly into very sweet kitties. We are playful, inquisitive and smart and can’t wait to have a home to call our own. We can be adopted singly but we make great pals for each other so if you have room for 2, please consider adopting us as a pair!

Carol’s Ferals

Carol’s Ferals specializes in trap, neuter, return (TNR), but they come across “friendlies” who are available for adoption. Here are their pets of the week.

For the Month of January, Carol’s Ferals and Friendlies will not have open adoption hours; adoptions will be by appointment only.  There is some remodeling and organizing being done.  To apply to adopt a cat, go to www.carolsferals.org.

Corbet was left outside by owner. The neighbor was caring for him but couldn’t bring him in. The neighbor got permission from the owner to bring him to Carol’s Ferals.

Hi, I’m Corbet. I am a friendly, solid boy who loves to talk! I would love for you to come meet me.

Hi, I’m Kimber. I was found on an extremely hot summer day lying in a woman’s backyard. I was nursing kittens, and literally just fur and bones. Unfortunately, my kittens were never found. I am a super friendly, sweet and gentle girl. I love attention and love to be pet, especially on my head! I would be great with children and other cats.  Unknown about dogs.

Hi, I’m Munin. I am an extremely friendly and talkative boy. I love attention so head scratches and belly rubs are most welcome and sought out!  I’m also good with children and other cats.

Hearts of Hope Dog Rescue

Hearts of Hope Dog Rescue look to find dogs and sometimes cats in their care forever homes with the help of foster homes.  Here are their pets of the week.

Harper is a 12 week old Dane Mix with the most beautiful dairy cow markings and the sweetest little face. Harper and her siblings came to our rescue all the way from Tennessee !! She is doing a great job with her crate training and house training. Harper would love a home that will take her to puppy classes to enforce all the wonderful things she is learning in her foster home. She loves cats, dogs and humans of all ages. This sweet kid is in incredibly lovable and is known for giving the best hugs !! Harper is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on shots. Her adoption fee is $300. To adopt Harper apply at www.rescueofhope.com/adoption-application

This is Ben (Benny) who is a pittie/lab? Hound? mix (good ole American mutt).  He is just under 10 lbs and about 2 months old. Ben has tons of energy in his little body and loves to play with his 3 brothers. When he isn’t playing at home he is at work with his mom sleeping in the office. Ben loves to sleep with you in bed or snuggle up with another dog. He is working on going to the bathroom outside and usually cries to let you know. Ben would prefer a home with older kids. He hasn’t met a cat yet but he would likely want to rough house with them too! If you love dogs with just the right amount of sass and snuggle- Benny’s your guy! He will be neutered, up to date on shots and microchipped. His adoption fee is $300.
