Furry Friday

The following animals are available for adoption.  If you find an animal you’d like to adopt please contact the organization directly.  Lowell’s First Look does not assist with the adoption process. And if you’re looking to add to your family and don’t see an animal below, each organization has additional cats and dogs looking for new homes.   Pet profiles and photos are provided by each organization.

For additional information about each organization visit their websites or read our intro article to Furry Friday!  The following pet profiles are provided by each rescue.

Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary

Those involved with Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary take pride in finding the right home for dogs in their care. Here are their pets of the week.

Let’s play a game! Two truths and a lie: I know how to “speak”, I carry around a briefcase with all my important documents, and I’m the perfect dog for you! My name is Elliot and I’m a volunteer favorite around here! I know a bunch of tricks, and love showing them off! I can sit, shake, high five, lay down, and speak! When I’m not schmoozing the volunteers, I can be found playing with a dog friend, or being a lap dog! My perfect home is one without cats, but I would love a home with kids! I hope you’ll come meet me soon!

Does your cell phone provider offer unlimited talk? You’ll need it after you adopt me! In typical husky fashion, I LOVE a good conversation, and I love doing ANYTHING (so we will never have to have the “I don’t know, what do yooouuu want to do” conversation). On Mondays we can go for a walk, on Tuesdays you can take me to the pet supply store for a shiny new bone, Wednesdays we will snuggle the day away. I love meeting new friends (dogs and humans alike), and I even like kids! Let’s not waste another day, schedule a visit with me today (I’m out of minutes on my cell phone, so I can’t make the call myself…)!

Carol’s Ferals

Carol’s Ferals specializes in trap, neuter, return (TNR), but they come across “friendlies” who are available for adoption. Here are their pets of the week.

For the Month of January, Carol’s Ferals and Friendlies will not have open adoption hours; adoptions will be by appointment only.  There is some remodeling and organizing being done.  To apply to adopt a cat, go to www.carolsferals.org.

Hi, I’m Marvel. I am a very friendly girl who loves pets if you approach me quietly. I am chatty, playful and love laser lights! Please come visit me so you can see just what a sweet girl I am.

Hi, I’m Kimber. I was found on an extremely hot summer day lying in a woman’s backyard. I was nursing kittens, and literally just fur and bones. Unfortunately, my kittens were never found. I am a super friendly, sweet and gentle girl. I love attention and love to be pet, especially on my head! I would be great with children.

Hi, I’m Teegan. I am a sweet, petite gal who loves people and attention. When I first arrived here I did not like other cats at all. Slowly, but surely, I have gotten used to the others here and am cautiously optimistic about my roommates. However, I would be best suited in a home where I am the only cat.

Hearts of Hope Dog Rescue

Hearts of Hope Dog Rescue look to find dogs and sometimes cats in their care forever homes with the help of foster homes.  Here are their pets of the week.

Lucas is an adorable, loving, four-month old terrier mix who came to us from down South with his mom Cami (see separate listing). He is a typical high-energy puppy who loves everyone. He is very affectionate, curious, and fun! He knows his name and we are working on some puppy etiquette like; potty training, chewing, walking on a leash. He is a smart boy who is treat and positive reinforcement motivated. An active home is the best fit for Lucas as he will need attention, exercise, and further training. A fenced-in yard is needed as he may wander. He would make any home a joyful place. He is up to date on vaccine, chipped and neutered. His adoption fee is $300.

Benito is a 4 pound, 6 year old Wire-Haired Chi Mix. He is a laid back little ball of furry cuteness. Benito loves to cuddle in his humans’ laps and watch Disney Plus with his foster siblings. He is crate trained and house trained, and he does well with dogs and older kids. This fox-like mammal creature loves to be held, and he is always interested in going on adventures with his humans. Benito is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.  His adoption fee is $200. To adopt Benito apply at www.rescueofhope.com/adoption-application
