Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary

Those involved with Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary take pride in finding the right home for dogs in their care. Here are their pets of the week.

Meet Farrah! Ice cream lover, perfect co-pilot, and wall flower: these are just words that I’ve heard the staff and volunteers use to describe me while I’ve been here at Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary. I’m the girl that everyone thinks is mean before they get to know me, but after we get past the awkward stage before we become best friends (come on…you know exactly what I’m talking about! It can be hard to make new friends!), we will be BEST friends! My favorite hobbies include going for long walks, going for car rides, being on the receiving end of butt scratches (it would be super weird if I was on the distributing end of butt scratches….), and eating ice cream! I can’t wait to meet you, and hope you’re filling out my adoption application right now!

Higbee’s most endearing feature is how he must bring you something every time you go to his kennel. Be it his toy, his bone, or a treat that he’s been saving, you can count on this happy guy to try and share it with you! Higbee’s hobbies include going for boat rides, sightseeing, and cuddling. But really, he will do anything as long as he’s hanging out with his people! Higbee is a social butterfly and loves meeting new people! Send in an application today to set up a meeting with this happy-go-lucky guy!

I have been being introduced to more dog friends recently and that has been going really well. I have even met some more children, I enjoyed watching them run around (child’s age – 11)

Hearts of Hope Dog Rescue

Hearts of Hope Dog Rescue look to find dogs and sometimes cats in their care forever homes with the help of foster homes.  Here are their pets of the week.

Honey is approximately 2 years old and weighs about 80 pounds. She is a sweet girl who needs humans she can trust. Once she knows you, she LOVES you. She loves to go for walks and car rides and loves to lounge around the house, coming and going from her crate.

She is completely potty trained and crate trained. She loves to be in the same room as her people but she does not need to be right next to you. She’s not super into toys but does enjoy the occasional chomp on a bone.

She knows lots of basic commands and isn’t afraid of things like fireworks, storms, or the vacuum.

Our sweet Honey is looking for a dog savvy home committed to continuing her training and willing to scratch her ears and tell her she’s a good girl as often as she can get it. It takes her a few minutes to meet new people but she’s mastering that daily. Honey is looking for a family where she can be the only pet because she’s all the love you will need. Our sweet girl is a little too interested in things smaller than her so any kids in her forever family will need to be 12 or older. Honey is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on her vaccines. Her adoption fee is $200.

Fred is a shepherd mix with amazing radar ears and the funniest head tilts. We think he’s just under a year old. This sweet boy has had a difficult past, but being in a loving and patient home has shown him to be a real love. Fred is an incredibly sweet soul, but he takes a little time to open up and feel comfortable with new people. He is so smart and well behaved; he just needs a little help gaining confidence in new situations. Fred is crate trained, house trained, and he does well with other furry friends. He would prefer a home without smaller children. We think Fred would love to find a forever family who can be patient and help him develop confidence =. He loves to learn, and he bonds really well in a quiet, one-on-one setting. Fred is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots. His adoption fee is $275.
