Bandit 1

My name is Cisko and as you can tell I love to go on boat rides and spend time outdoors. I like some dogs and will need to do a meet and greet with any new dog friends before going to my new home. I’ve been told that I’m a smart dog and that I’m a quick learner. I’m looking forward to meeting my new family!

Hearts of Hope Dog Rescue

Hearts of Hope Dog Rescue look to find dogs and sometimes cats in their care forever homes with the help of foster homes.  Here are their pets of the week.

Ben (aka Benjamin Button) was rescued from living in an outside kennel at a shelter in Louisiana where he was dumped 10 years ago. There was little human interaction. He had other dogs around, but the conditions were deplorable and it was not much of a life at all. He had terrible ear infections that went untreated for years. Now Ben is 15 years old and has never had a home of his own. He’s blind, hard of hearing, a little creaky and can’t always do the things he wants to do, but he’s content and enjoys being spoiled. He really loves food, dental chews, toys and bones. After getting him feeling better his attitude and personality have really come out. He loves the female dogs in his foster home, but growls at the males as if to let them know he’s the man. He was never neutered, so it makes sense. We aren’t going to put him through surgery at 15 and he’s very good about going potty outside. He does wear a belly band when he’s in the house in case he decides he needs to mark his territory, but he’s been a really good boy. He barks in protest if you try to put him in a room alone. Ben prefers to be in an open space or outside lounging. If you have the time to spend with him and you’re not concerned about his longevity, he’s a wonderful dog who truly deserves the best life has to offer. It will take him time to adjust to new people and places because he can’t see, but he’s so proud of himself when he gets the layout down and knows right where his water bowl is. His little tail wags will melt your heart. Ben’s adoption fee is $175 to help with his vet care and you can apply for him at: https://rescueofhope.com/adoption-application/

Friendly Freddy! that about sums up this adorable and loving Corgi/ Blue Heeler mix.  Freddy is approximately 10 years old and weighs in at around 21 lbs.  Freddy loves to go out and he is so easy on walks.  Curiosity is his middle name, but he stays near the pack at all times, probably his herding instinct!!  He has an easy nature with other dogs and kids. He won’t play ball, but he sure loves to cuddle.  Freddy is house trained and crate trained. He is neutered, chipped and up to date on vaccines. His adoption fee is $175.
