Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary

Those involved with Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary take pride in finding the right home for dogs in their care. Here are their pets of the week.

Earl is a two year old Dachshund mix. He was taken from his past home by animal control, due to hoarding. He is a super shy guy. He is good with dogs, but very scared of humans at this point. If you have the time to really provide a loving environment, and lots of patience, it would be wonderful if you could help Mr. Earl to relax and enjoy life. He would need a home with other small dogs due to his fear issues.

Gillian is a sweetheart. She was taken away from her past owners due to hoarding conditions. She is really good with other dogs as she lived with quite a few. She likes to cuddle when she knows you. She does not know commands so a patient owner that can take the time to teach her things would be great.

Hearts of Hope Dog Rescue

Hearts of Hope Dog Rescue look to find dogs and sometimes cats in their care forever homes with the help of foster homes.  Here are their pets of the week.

Ethan is a 10 month old shepherd/rottie/maybe a lab mix who came to Michigan from Louisiana. This sweet soul is a very special case, and we are excited to meet the wonderful people that will become his humans. Ethan is going to need a very special and patient family that will give him plenty of time to decompress and help him build confidence slowly. He is very fearful of people at first, but, Ethan loves dogs. So much. And he loves to be outside. He will need a confident and playful dog sibling to help him adapt to his new home. Having that fur sibling really seems to calm him and make him more comfortable in the home, and it’s so heart warming to see him happy and watch his true colors come out when he is romping around and playing. Ethan is house trained, but is still working on his crate training. He is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.  His adoption fee is $275.  To adopt Ethan apply at www.rescueofhope.com/adoption-application

Meet Dewy! Dewy was rescued from Louisiana with her mom and eleven brothers and sisters. Her mom is a 50 pound staffy, and Dewy might be about that size too. She is the spunkiest girl in her litter, is super curious about what everyone around her is doing, and loves to explore. Dewy’s foster mom thinks Dewy is going to grow up to be a great dog for an adventurous family. She’s playful and fearless, and loves being part of a group. She would do really well in a house with other playful dogs and/or kids who can show her the ropes while she grows up. She is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines. Her adoption fee is $300.
