Furry Friday

The following animals are available for adoption.  If you find an animal you’d like to adopt please contact the organization directly.  Lowell’s First Look does not assist with the adoption process.  And if you’re looking to add to your family and don’t see an animal below, each organization has additional animals looking for new homes.   Pet profiles and photos are provided by each organization.

Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary

Those involved with Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary take pride in finding the right home for dogs in their care. Here are their pets of the week.

My name is Rocket Raccoon. I was part of an abuse case where lots of dogs were pulled from a home for neglect. I am only year old, so still just a youngster. I am full of enthusiastic energy and could use a nice family that can harness that. I would love a family or a younger couple that is active and likes to walk or possibly even jog. I will need a nice yard attached to the house to run around and play in. If you are interested in teaching me more obedience, I can guarantee, I am willing to learn. I am not a dog for young kids, they make me very uneasy. I did okay with the cat intro though but may try to chase at some point. I play rough with my fellow dogs and will need some continued socialization there as well. I will be the best dog for the right person!!

Rocket Raccoon, an adoptable Hound Mix in Lake Odessa, MI

My name is Sequoia and I came to MAS with my 7 puppies. My pups have all been adopted, so I’m now ready to find a forever home of her own. I’m a little shy so I take my time getting to know new people. I’m the type of dog that enjoys hanging out with my favorite people in a quiet and calm environment.

Along with many others, I was rescued from a hoarding situation. My pups have been adopted and it’s now my turn to find a forever home! I’m a little shy/nervous when I meet new people, but with some time you’ll see the sweetest girl come out of her shell. You’ll need to show me patience, kindness & love, as this won’t happen overnight. My new family needs to understand that I was neglected and in a bad situation, meaning I was not introduced to many things. What you may think is a normal experience may very well be the first time I am experiencing it. Slow and easy with new situations will be key.

Hearts of Hope Dog Rescue

Hearts of Hope Dog Rescue look to find dogs and sometimes cats in their care forever homes with the help of foster homes.  Here are their pets of the week.

Daisy is a 30 pound, 10 year old Border Collie Mix with the softest fur and the most laid back, pleasant personality. She is crate trained, house trained, and she is always ready for a cuddle session and a Schitt’s Creek Marathon. She does great with cats and dogs, and loves older children. This adorable sweetheart had a rough life before coming to our rescue. She is really enjoying the good life with her foster family. She will need a patient and supportive home to keep building her confidence, and love her the way she deserves. Daisy will undergo heart worm treatment in early April; Hearts of Hope is sponsoring this treatment with a local veterinarian practice; this munchkin will need a laid back, calm environment to make sure the treatment is effective and safe. Daisy is spayed, microchipped and up to date on shots. Her adoption fee is $175. To adopt Daisy apply at www.rescueofhope.com/adoption-application

Huey Hefner is a 30 pound, 3 year old Beagle Mix. True to his name, he is super cool, very relaxed, and spends most of his time without any clothing on. Huey came to our rescue all the way from Arkansas. He is doing a fantastic job with his crate training and house training, and he walks very well on a leash. Huey is going to need a relaxed home to match his chill personality while he undergoes his heart worm treatment. And after the treatment is done, he will need his neuter surgery. He is aware of the irony of an old Hound who is surrounded by bunnies losing his bits – seems okay with it. Huey Hefner is microchipped and up to date on shots. His adoption fee is $250. To adopt Huey Hefner apply at www.rescueofhope.com/adoption-application
