Furry Friday

The following animals are available for adoption.  If you find an animal you’d like to adopt please contact the organization directly.  Lowell’s First Look does not assist with the adoption process.  And if you’re looking to add to your family and don’t see an animal below, each organization has additional animals looking for new homes.   Pet profiles and photos are provided by each organization.

Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary

Those involved with Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary take pride in finding the right home for dogs in their care. Here are their pets of the week.

Rita & Chico have lived their lives together and are a bonded pair. We would love for them to continue to do so in their new homes! Rita is as sweet as they come! She loves to play with squeaky toys, and is always up to go for a walk. Chico is a happy little lapdog and an absolute ham, who loves to cuddle. He can be convinced to go for a quick walk, but would much prefer to snuggle up and soak up the sun. This dynamic duo has quickly wiggled their way into the hearts of all of here at Mackenzie’s, and has enjoyed the company of everyone they’ve met so far.

Hearts of Hope Dog Rescue

Hearts of Hope Dog Rescue look to find dogs and sometimes cats in their care forever homes with the help of foster homes.  Here are their pets of the week.

Sweet Walter is such a handsome boy! Don’t let his distinguished looks fool you though, Walter’s estimated age is only around 1 year old! He has had quite the journey in that short amount of time through no fault of his own, and he’s so, SO deserving of a forever home to show him what it means to be loved unconditionally. Walter is very respectful but has some habits from his time in the shelter that he could use some help with. He is VERY food motivated and sometimes accidentally takes treats too aggressively, although he has been trying very hard to be better! For this reason, Walter would do best in a house without young children for the time being.  We are also recommending a home with no cats or a home with an owner that is willing to work diligently on slow introductions and impulse control, as Walt has a strong prey-drive and little to no experience with cats.

Walter is great with other dogs of all ages and sizes and is fully house trained. He knows several commands, is good on a leash, and would be an incredible addition to a very lucky family. His adoption fee is $250.

This sweet boy with droopy eyes and great big floppy ears is Ollie !! Ollie is a 4 month old Hound Mix who came to our Rescue all the way from Arkansas. He is incredibly sweet, and he is quite the cuddler !! Ollie is doing a fantastic job with his crate training and house training. He does very well with dogs and older children. He would love to go to Puppy Classes with his forever humans. Ollie is neutered, microchipped and up to date on shots. His adoption fee is $300.
