Furry Friday

The following animals are available for adoption.  If you find an animal you’d like to adopt please contact the organization directly.  Lowell’s First Look does not assist with the adoption process.  And if you’re looking to add to your family and don’t see an animal below, each organization has additional animals looking for new homes.   Pet profiles and photos are provided by each organization.

Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary

Those involved with Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary take pride in finding the right home for dogs in their care. Here are their pets of the week.

My name is Robb! I am one of the most laid back guys you’ll ever meet! My favorite things are: cuddling with my humans, naps, and tasty treats. That’s it! I am pretty easy to please. I know some commands, and have my manners down too.

I was recently diagnosed with lymphoma, and I’m given chemotherapy regularly for it. It doesn’t seem to slow me down at all! I still feel great and am the same happy go lucky boy that I’ve always been. I would love to go through treatment in a quiet home..

I’ll need a home without other pets, and have done well with older kids. In a perfect world, I’d find myself in a loving and laid back home, with a few humans to snuggle up with.

Most people dream of having fancy cars, big houses, and winning the lottery. My dreams? Someone to throw a ball around for me, who will let me lick their face, and who will snuggle with me when our day is through. My name is Ace, and I’m what you humans call a “good boy”! When I’m not chasing around a tennis ball, I can be found going for long walks with my favorite people (sometimes they take me for car rides too, which I LOVE!). My idea of winning the lottery is having a place to call home and having endless amounts of tennis balls to chew on! Send in your application today! Maybe you’ll be my lottery winnings!

Hearts of Hope Dog Rescue

Hearts of Hope Dog Rescue look to find dogs and sometimes cats in their care forever homes with the help of foster homes.  Here are their pets of the week.

Betty is perfect. She is extremely cuddly and affectionate, she is beyond adorable, and she happily shares her legos with all her friends. She is a 3 month old Staffy Mix puppy with the cutest, most scrunchy face – it’s so scrunchy !!  Betty is doing a fantastic job with her crate training and house training, and she loves cats, dogs and humans of all ages !! Her foster humans describe her as a ‘Super Cuddler’. She will fit into any home so well, and she will fill that very lucky home with so much love.  Betty is spayed, microchipped and up to date on shots. Her adoption fee is $300. To adopt Betty apply at www.rescueofhope.com/adoption-application

Flint is perfect. He’s a gentle giant with the best heart, and the biggest, most beautiful brown eyes. Despite a heart breaking past, he is uncommonly kind. He has so much love to give; he is going to change someone’s life in a very meaningful and profound way. He loves to cuddle, and he gives great big hugs – the very best hugs. Flint is house trained, crate trained, and he does very well walking on a leash. He loves his doggie roommates and plays very nicely with dogs of all energy levels. Flint is a 65 pound, 10 year old Staffy Mix who came to our Rescue from our good friends at Genessee County Animal Control. He is neutered, microchipped and up to date on shots. His adoption fee is $175. To adopt this sweet boy apply at www.rescueofhope.com/adoption-application

Holliday’s Exotic Avian Rescue Team

HEART specializes in rehoming birds when all other alternatives have been considered. Based in Lowell, birds are fostered primarily in Lowell or White Pigeon. Here are their pets of the week.

Togo is a male cockatiel who is older. He’s very interested in things and people but hands are scary, he does step up on a towel when needed. He’s a very good boy, loves to be out of his cage. He would benefit from having a friend, he’s always talking with our parakeets. We do not know much about Togo, he was surrendered with Animal Control and all they told them was his name and that he wasn’t let out much. You will be required to have a cage that is 1 1/2 times his wingspan.

Location: Lowell, MI
Adoption Fee: $50
