Furry Friday

The following animals are available for adoption.  If you find an animal you’d like to adopt please contact the organization directly.  Lowell’s First Look does not assist with the adoption process.  And if you’re looking to add to your family and don’t see an animal below, each organization has additional animals looking for new homes.   Pet profiles and photos are provided by each organization.

Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary

Those involved with Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary take pride in finding the right home for dogs in their care. Here are their pets of the week.

My name is Duke. I am truly a handsome guy, or so they tell me. I love to run and play, and be with my humans. I would prefer an active home, lots of walks, and possibly even jogging with my human. I was left to run in my life before Mackenzies, so I would need a home with a physically fenced area. I would prefer a family that can make me the center of attention at first, as I am sort of scared of new things. This means my past owners did not work with me as much as I needed. The kind folks at MAS do think that if you work hard with me at first, I am super smart and will be the best behaved dog ever. I would prefer a home without small kids under 8, so you can focus on me for a bit.

Duke 3

Hi there, my name is Pistol.

I am a very sweet guy, who would do great with a laid back family. I love walks, hanging out with my people and having fun in our play yards. As you can tell by my pictures, I do like other dogs, just not all of them. If you can’t adopt, please tell your friends about me. I would really like to meet a family that will love me forever.

I hope to be meeting you soon.

My D.O.B. is 9-30-13.

Hearts of Hope Dog Rescue

Hearts of Hope Dog Rescue look to find dogs and sometimes cats in their care forever homes with the help of foster homes.  Here are their pets of the week.

Looking to add a little oomph to your fitness routine? Meet Frankie, a German shepherd shepherd/pittie mix with the best ears you’ve ever seen and a world record setting mile time. Clocking in at around 6 months old and a spry 40-ish pounds, Ms. Frankie came over from Detroit and quickly opened up to new dogs and people alike. Best described as spunky, she has the high energy of a young pup but has no qualms about settling into the crook of your arm for a nice nap after play. Frankie would do best in a home without small children, and with an active family that can let her get her zoomies out each day. Cats are unknown but would likely be fine with a proper introduction. Her adoption fee is $275.

Sadie is a beautiful, apricot colored Boxer Mix with a great big smile and a great big heart. She’s definitely a Velcro dog; she absolutely adores her humans. We like to think that her celebrity voice is Ellen Degeneres – because she’s fun and goofy, and she makes people laugh everywhere she goes !! Sadie is 3 years old and weighs 45 pounds. She is crate trained and house trained, and she walks very well on a leash. Sadie does very well with respectful dogs and humans of all ages. She doesn’t love cats – or Gossip Girl. She is undergoing heart worm treatments that the Rescue is sponsoring with a local veterinarian practice. So her new humans will have to be help her continue these treatments and provide the appropriate environment for her. Sadie is spayed, microchipped and up to date on shots. Her adoption fee is $250.
