Furry Friday

The following animals are available for adoption.  If you find an animal you’d like to adopt please contact the organization directly.  Lowell’s First Look does not assist with the adoption process.  And if you’re looking to add to your family and don’t see an animal below, each organization has additional cats, dogs, or farm animals looking for new homes.   Pet profiles and photos are provided by each organization.

For additional information about each organization visit their websites or read our intro article to Furry Friday!

Carol’s Ferals

Carol’s Ferals specializes in trap, neuter, return (TNR), but they come across “friendlies” who are available for adoption. Here are their pets of the week.

My name is Hazel!  I am gorgeous loner who can be sassy, and I love humans!  Sometimes I swat at other cats if they get too close, but mostly I just leave them alone.  I think I’d be okay with a dog or two.  Come meet me.  I’m even prettier in real life!

Hi!  I’m Snowshoe.  Yes, I may be a Siamese mix, but I speak American Cat.  I tend to be lazy, and lay around a lot, but I have been known to play with a wand toy.  I enjoy being petted, but I am not a lap cat – yet.  Don’t let my FIV+ status worry you, I don’t.  I can live just as long as other cats.

If you want a conversationalist, I’m Stewie and I’m your guy!  I love to chat, greet people at the door, and get petted.  I am a very friendly boy.  You can check me out anytime.  If you speak American Cat, I’ll tell you all about the other cats, what’s been happening, and tell you my life story.

Vicky’s Pet Connection

Vicky’s Pet Connection works with the Kent County Animal Shelter to rescue cats and kittens.  They also take in dogs older in age and those needing special care. Here are their pets of the week.

Looking for a smaller dog to share your home? Meet Chilupa! This little guy has tons of personality packed into that tiny, little body! He is around 3 years old and such a happy guy. He’s doing well in his foster home where he lives with a couple cats and other dogs. He can be quite playful with the other dogs but would likely do best with dogs that aren’t too pushy and bossy. He is doing pretty well on his potty training (he uses a doggy door) but a new owner will want to “treat him like a puppy” and ensure that he is on a regular potty schedule with lots of praise for going outside.

Chilupa is quite playful and sometimes gets quite silly with his toys. He loves to be carried around by his favorite people (or snuggle under the covers with them!) because like many small dogs…he does not love the cold weather! Unfortunately, he also isn’t a big fan of wearing coats so his outside trips are very fast in the cold! Chilupa is a good car rider and would love to have a person of his own. Chihuahua’s can be quite long-lived so he should have lots of great years to share with someone special.

Shiloh is a young adult kitty, about two years old. She’s in need of a person who will share their lap, bed and love. In return, Shiloh will warm your heart. Shiloh is a bit shy, so she will do best in a quiet household with a family who has some experience with cats who need time to blossom in a new home.
