Furry Friday

The following animals are available for adoption.  If you find an animal you’d like to adopt please contact the organization directly.  Lowell’s First Look does not assist with the adoption process.  And if you’re looking to add to your family and don’t see an animal below, each organization has additional cats, dogs, or farm animals looking for new homes.   Pet profiles and photos are provided by each organization.

For additional information about each organization visit their websites or read our intro article to Furry Friday!

Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary

Those involved with Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary take pride in finding the right home for dogs in their care. Here are their pets of the week.

Hi! My name is Keeper. My DOB is 8/3/14, so I’m still young and full of energy! I love to spend my time swimming in the pond at Mackenzie’s, learning new things, practicing catching frisbees, and sometimes even going for a run. Even though I try to stay active, I love to settle down and cuddle. I love going for car rides, and one staff member even takes me for rides often because I do so well!

I know my commands quite well, and now I’m working on my walking skills. Sometimes I get excited and pull a bit on the leash, but I’m working hard at getting better! I did well on my cat introduction and do well with other dogs. I met some kids and I did well, but because I’m so happy and excited, older kids would be best. I don’t enjoy being crated, but would prefer to relax in a cozy bed behind a baby gate when we aren’t out playing or on an adventure. Come see me soon!

My name is Indie. My D.O.B is 5/9/14. I love spending time with people and will try to be a lap dog if you let me. I would do best in a home without any small animals because if they’re nearby, I’m very hard to distract. I love to follow my nose, so I do need a home with a physical fenced yard. I absolutely love toys – especially ones that squeak! I love to be active and need a family that can get me out for walks and play time.

Carol’s Ferals

Carol’s Ferals specializes in trap, neuter, return (TNR), but they come across “friendlies” who are available for adoption. Here are their pets of the week.

I’m Regan.  My name means little king in Gaelic, but don’t worry, I won’t act like a royal.  I will greet you at the door when you come home and offer soft purrs.  I am a loving, lap cat who will let you know when I’ve had enough (maybe that’s the royalty in me).  I may do well with one other cat or a dog, but I can be a bully.

I’m Hailey!  You’ve got to admit I am beautiful and would look lovely lounging anywhere!  I am a sweet girl who minds my own business.  I am still shy, but I am slowly coming around.  If you are a patient person and want to work with me, please come and meet me.

I’m Birdie.  Nice to meet you!  One day that red dot will be MINE.  I am a tiny girl who loves to play.  Recently I started meowing for attention and petting (was kind of shy earlier).  If you have windows and toys with time to play, come check me out!
