Furry Friday

The following animals are available for adoption.  If you find an animal you’d like to adopt please contact the organization directly.  Lowell’s First Look does not assist with the adoption process. And if you’re looking to add to your family and don’t see an animal below, each organization has additional cats, dogs, or farm animals looking for new homes.   Pet profiles and photos are provided by each organization.

For additional information about each organization visit their websites or read our intro article to Furry Friday!

Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary

Those involved with Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary take pride in finding the right home for dogs in their care. Here are their pets of the week.

Muhammad is the sweetest, cuddly, happy dude you could ever meet. He has been in a home for the last 5 years. He loves his people, and has done well with most canine companions. He likes to play with his people, and enjoys lots of walks and hanging out time. He is an all around good boy, just needs a forever home to understand him and his playful nature.

Hi, my name is “Poe”. My D.O.B is 8/8/14. I LOVE to swim. Swimming and playing fetch are two of my most favorite activities. I don’t really enjoy playing with other dogs, but can be around dogs that won’t get in my face. I can be a little mouthy sometimes, so I would prefer a home without any small kids. I would love to be adopted by a family that is really active and has the time to work on teaching me new commands. Please come see me soon!

Carol’s Ferals

Carol’s Ferals specializes in trap, neuter, return (TNR), but they come across “friendlies” who are available for adoption. Here are their pets of the week.

Hello!  I’m Melina!  Need a shy but beautiful loving girl?  Come check me out.  I love being petted.  Just know it will take some patience for us to get to know one another.  The best home for me would be a calm, quiet one with someone who loves to give me head and neck scratches.

My personality is quite a bit like Melina’s, shy, reserved, but love to get petted.  I also have a playful side!  I would also do well in a calm, quiet home with loving patient people.  Come and see me, I’m Petunia.

I’m Theon.  I am a WILD and CRAZY guy!  I love to play!  Bring on the toys and red dot!  I also love human attention, but I can be a bit grouchy around other cats.

Vicky’s Pet Connection

Vicky’s Pet Connection works with the Kent County Animal Shelter to rescue cats and kittens.  They also take in dogs older in age and those needing special care. Here are their pets of the week.

Check out these little Muppets available for adoption at Vicky’s Pet Connection! This is Bert and Ernie and they are best friends and playmates.  These two roommates were found in a condemned house on Sesame Street (well, technically that wasn’t the name of the street but they WERE found in a condemned house!) They are just 8 months old and way too young to be trying to make their way in the world without some help! That’s where YOU come in! These two handsome cats need a home where they can go back to being fun-lovin’, wrestling and running teenagers! How about it? They are quite bonded to one another and we would love to send them home together as a pair.
