Furry Friday

The following animals are available for adoption.  If you find an animal you’d like to adopt please contact the organization directly.  Lowell’s First Look does not assist with the adoption process.  And if you’re looking to add to your family and don’t see an animal below, each organization has additional animals looking for new homes.   Pet profiles and photos are provided by each organization.

Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary

Those involved with Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary take pride in finding the right home for dogs in their care. Here are their pets of the week.

The name Lambo was inspired by the very fast and very flashy sports car, Lamborghini. I myself could be described as mayhem on four legs to someone that can’t keep up with me….also I am as flashy as flashy gets in the handsome department!

My personality is a bit cat-like. I like to be in high places to scope out what is going on. Naturally I get along pretty well with cats, in fact I prefer to play with cats over other dogs paws down. I may not take as many naps as a cat would, but I do a great job entertaining myself with my toys when it’s time to wind down. I also appreciate confiscating your attention and holding your petting hands for ransom until I am satisfied with my daily love quota.

Coming in hot at 25lbs of sassitude, my main goal in life is to liven up every aspect of life! Some people might be intimidated by my big personality, but I prefer to think of it as being confident in my doggy emotions. I will let you know if I don’t particularly care for something (like going inside if I am having too much fun), and I am not afraid to tell someone exactly how I feel about them (mostly dogs, I am very bossy and dominant when it comes to canine acquaintances…probably best to avoid dog to dog interactions altogether). While I do have a lot to say sometimes, ask any therapist, it’s healthy to express your feelings.

If you have always wanted a Lamborghini, but it’s not quite in your budget right now….upgrade by submitting your application to meet me instead!

Lambo 5

Are you looking for a smart, devoted, and active playmate? How about a tall, dark, and handsome companion? Well, that’s me to a T! I’m Lincoln!

I have the biggest smile and I love to show it off! It is almost as big as the love in my heart. I love to play and run, and I think you would be impressed with how agile and fast I am. I love long walks, preferably on a more remote scenic trail. I would be a top notch hiking buddy!

I desire all your cuddles and attention to myself, so I need a home without other dogs or cats. Older kids are better equipped to handle my excitement and zest for life. I have been great with kids, but I don’t want to knock over very small ones by accident.

Don’t go thinking that I am all go-go-go though. I like to settle in and hangout with my people too. I am a big time lover, spending quality time with my people is the best part of any day! I’ve gotten quite a few compliments on my good boy behavior from everyone I meet. Like I said before, I am a smart guy, learning new tricks and maybe even doing some work with agility equipment is right up my alley!

If I sound like the dog for you, please fill out an application today!

Hearts of Hope Dog Rescue

Hearts of Hope Dog Rescue looks to find dogs and sometimes cats in their care forever homes with the help of foster homes.  Here are their pets of the week.

Kansas is a 45 pound, 9 month old Staffy Mix with the softest, most velvety fur and the cutest pink heart on her nose. She is a peach. Kansas’s mission in life is to give the best hugs, make her humans smile and laugh, and develop a noiseless  Velcro – which is ironic because she is a Velcro dog. She loves her snuggles and is always ready for cuddle sessions !! Kansas is doing a fantastic job with her house training and crate training, and she does well with other dogs and humans of all ages. Kansas is spayed and up to date on shots. Her adoption fee is $250. She asked me to tell you, “There’s no place like home.” To adopt Kansas apply at www.rescueofhope.com/adoption-application

Scout is an incredibly smart, sensitive, cuddly mix of pup. Around 65 pounds and 2 years of age, Scout came to us from down south. It was clear from the jump that Scout had not had the best experiences with people, but Scout has worked hard and learned that there are good people too. Scout loves playing with her foster siblings, and likes to be the boss until someone tells her no. She loves puzzle games, sniffy walks, and keeping an eye on the squirrels through the window. She’s highly intelligent, athletic, and a people pleaser and would love to take a obedience class with you to show off her skills. She loves to cuddle on the couch with her foster mom too, and it’s clear that she loves her people very deeply once she knows that she is safe with you. Scout would not do well with cats (she thinks they’re just big squirrels). Her adoption fee is $250.
