Furry Friday

The following animals are available for adoption.  If you find an animal you’d like to adopt please contact the organization directly.  Lowell’s First Look does not assist with the adoption process.  And if you’re looking to add to your family and don’t see an animal below, each organization has additional animals looking for new homes.   Pet profiles and photos are provided by each organization.

Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary

Those involved with Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary take pride in finding the right home for dogs in their care. Here are their pets of the week.

Beautiful, elegant, affectionate…and a little bit quirky…Nikkita is the name, and brains is my game!

Anyone who has had a German Shepherd knows we have the desire to please and the wits to back it up…with the occasional derp moments that make you fall in love everyday! My preferred home would include a nice yard to scope out adventure (maybe some squirrels to chase or neighborhood stray cats to terrorize in my pastime), a loving family that has some training games up their sleeve, and a warm place to snuggle up with my favorite toys. Oh, and don’t forget all the belly rubs! I would consider myself to be all that you need, but I would not mind a doggy playmate to share my home with.

If you are an aspiring photographer look no further (I am extremely photogenic and like 98% as majestic as it gets…as you can see) don’t wait, submit your application today!

They call me Snickers because I am a snack. Bonus: I am health and diet friendly! I might not taste like the candy (it is not advised to test that), but I am as good as one! I will even keep you into fitness going for walks; a pleasure you don’t have to feel guilty about!

Not only am I friendly on your physique, I am friendly in general. A real people dog that is happy to say hello to everyone around! All my friends at MAS say I’m a real down to earth pooch (they’re so sweet…like candy). It’s been a treat hanging out and making friends with everyone here, but I am ready for my forever home life. FYI my arch nemesis is going down stairs though, so if my new home has them that’s a challenge we will have to tackle together.

All you have to do now is submit your adoption application at the website below to get the ball rolling and come meet me. Remember, Snickers satisfies!

Hearts of Hope Dog Rescue

Hearts of Hope Dog Rescue looks to find dogs and sometimes cats in their care forever homes with the help of foster homes.  Here are their pets of the week.

Birdie has never met a stranger – she is just the friendliest and sweetest girl you’ll ever meet. This petite Shepherd mix is about 3 years old, just shy of 40 pounds, and is all about kisses and belly rubs. Birdie loves rides in the car, being outdoors, going on walks, and cuddles in soft blankets. Birdie is a smart and really well-behaved girl – she is house trained, crate trained, walks well on a leash, and knows basic commands. Birdie is also playful and athletic (think silly wiggle worm meets cute kangaroo) and would do best with an active family who are committed to regular play and exercise – she’d happily be a running or hiking buddy. She enjoys the company of other dogs, but would likely do well as an only pup, too. To continue building her confidence, Birdie’s family will need to be committed to training. Birdie is spayed, microchipped and current on her vaccines. Her adoption fee is $250. Apply to adopt Birdie at rescueofhope.com/adoption-application/

My name is Rusty and I’m a 20 lb Jack Russell Terrier mix that is about 5 years old. I am a perfect gentleman  and a great companion. Basically I’m just a happy little guy!  I love other dogs and do just fine with cats too.  I am housebroken and crate trained, even though I don’t really like the crate much and I do great when left out until my people come home anyway. Then I just love to cuddle on the couch with my favorite human.  I am neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations.  My adoption fee is $275.  You can apply to adopt me at rescueofhope.com. Could you be my forever family?
