The following animals are available for adoption.  If you find an animal you’d like to adopt please contact the organization directly.  Lowell’s First Look does not assist with the adoption process.  And if you’re looking to add to your family and don’t see an animal below, each organization has additional animals looking for new homes.   Pet profiles and photos are provided by each organization.

Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary

Those involved with Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary take pride in finding the right home for dogs in their care. Here are their pets of the week.

I am a recent arrival to MAS, it is lovely to meet you here. My name is Murray, the lord of laps and a squeaky toy enthusiast.

In the brief time I have been here, MAS has served me well. I enjoy the royal treatment; which I am sure you will be quick to learn as well. For example, I do not appreciate being man-handled by ruffian strangers. Also I take my kibble with a soft soaking and I prefer it to be preheated.

Though I am particular about the hands that grace me and my eating habits; I do enjoy being the fabulous little canine that I am. I appreciate the quiet time a leisure stroll on a scenic route offers. Speaking of quiet time, I should like to be the baby of the household. Wild children are too much vigor for my comfort. Besides, your lap is my spot. Four legged social gatherings are nice, so long as they don’t spend too long living the high life in my throne (your lap). I do have the tendency to find myself getting a bit jealous. Jealous? Me? I can hardly believe it myself.

If you would like a first hand chance to meet your truly, submit your adoption application today.

Murray, an adoptable Chihuahua Mix in Lake Odessa, MI_image-2

A is for all the affection I have to give
V is for my vivacious nature
E is for easing into new friendships
R is for my refreshing outlook on life
I is for the incredible adventures we will have together
E is for my enthusiasm in everything I do!

I’m Averie! I hear people-pleasing is supposed to be exhausting….but not for me! Being the young little lady that I am, my potential is as high as your dedication. It is very satisfying to utilize this beautiful brain I have, to make my friends (and my future family) happy. I won’t lie to you; I am still growing out of some “puppy habits” (mouthing when I am overly excited) but rest assured, positive redirection and consistency will make for a quick remedy.

Who needs a television when you could have me to keep you entertained! My enthusiasm is expressed in such a dorky way. I like to zoom around and try my best to impersonate a professional contortionist by folding over like a pretzel with my behind in the air! I am really excited to play with other dogs too, its a great way to let my antics out before we hunker down in bed for the night.

Don’t wait too long, if you like it….then you should put a collar on it. Take the first steps by submitting your adoption application to the website below!

Hearts of Hope Dog Rescue

Hearts of Hope Dog Rescue looks to find dogs and sometimes cats in their care forever homes with the help of foster homes.  Here are their pets of the week.

Aspen is a 12 pound, 15 week Whippet Mix with the cutest dimply face. Her cuteness will become legendary. Generations will discuss her cuteness and how uncomprehendable it is. Legendary. Aspen is doing a fantastic job with her house training and crate training, and she does very well with other dogs. She will do best in a home that has a fenced in yard. Aspen would prefer a home with another fur sibling to help teach her the ropes – metaphorical and literal. We are hoping to find this adorable munchkin a dedicated forever human that will take her to Puppy Classes and teach her all the good things. Aspen is spayed, microchipped and up to date on shots. Her adoption fee is $300. To adopt Aspen apply at www.rescueofhope.com/adoption-application

Dasher is a 26 pound, 6 month old Staffy Mix with gorgeous tuxedo markings and the most adorable ears. He’s perfect – he is always happy and full of love, he gives great big hugs, he is a wonderful listener and he never eats the last piece of pizza. Perfect. Dasher loves to go on adventures, and he is always ready for cuddles. He is house trained, crate trained, and he does well with other dogs and humans of all ages !! Dasher is neutered and up to date on shots. His adoption fee is $300. To adopt Dasher apply at www.rescueofhope.com/adoption-application
