The following animals are available for adoption.  If you find an animal you’d like to adopt please contact the organization directly.  Lowell’s First Look does not assist with the adoption process.  And if you’re looking to add to your family and don’t see an animal below, each organization has additional animals looking for new homes.   Pet profiles and photos are provided by each organization.

Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary

Those involved with Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary take pride in finding the right home for dogs in their care. Here are their pets of the week.

“Which side are you?” -TWIX

Well, if you are looking for a right-hand pooch… say no more! Being right by your side is my favorite place to be! Also, one of my favorite tricks that I like is to “sit” and “shake ” with my right paw of course. Though if you prefer the left side, that’s my good ear, you know the one that stands up tall and alert. All the better to hear you when you are having a rough day and need to vent. We can curl up together and you can tell me all about your day and rub my belly. I might try to crawl in your lap and gaze at you (with the sweetest puppy dog eyes I can muster) to make everything all better for you. I will always have your back, so long as you promise to have mine. Because some new things make me a little nervous sometimes. I am quite a young pup after all, so continuing socializing me will be a huge benefit for our future. Having a best friend to be able to count on when I am a little unsure really puts me at ease. One thing I am quite nervous of is the small kid energy. The wild-child shenanigans are too much intensity for me… I am much more comfortable with older more relaxed kids to go home with.

Having a canine playmate to go home with would be a great energy outlet…. or even an occasional playdate would be something for me to look forward to! I am perfectly happy to be the center of my bestie’s attention too though. While I do enjoy canine company, I have decided that cats are bad news and should not go home with any of those pesky creatures.

Right or left, both sides of me are pretty darn good if you ask me. “Need a moment” to decide? Submit your adoption application to the website below to spend some time to “chew it over with Twix”

Are you looking for a smart, devoted, and active playmate? How about a tall, dark, and handsome companion? Well, that’s me to a T!

I have the biggest smile and I love to show it off! It is almost as big as the love in my heart. I love to play and run, and I think you would be impressed with how agile and fast I am. I love long walks, preferably on a more remote scenic trail. I would be a top notch hiking buddy!

I desire all your cuddles and attention to myself, so I need a home without other dogs or cats. Older kids are better equipped to handle my excitement and zest for life. I have been great with kids, but I don’t want to knock over very small ones by accident.

Don’t go thinking that I am all go-go-go though. I like to settle in and hangout with my people too. I am a big time lover, spending quality time with my people is the best part of any day! I’ve gotten quite a few compliments on my good boy behavior from everyone I meet. Like I said before, I am a smart guy, learning new tricks and maybe even doing some work with agility equipment is right up my alley!

If I sound like the dog for you, please fill out an application today!

Hearts of Hope Dog Rescue

Hearts of Hope Dog Rescue looks to find dogs and sometimes cats in their care forever homes with the help of foster homes.  Here are their pets of the week.

Mosley is a 65 pound, 5 year old Boxer/Staffy Mix with a very laid back and loving personality. He is very pleasant to be around, and he loves cuddling with his humans. He is an incredibly sweet and cuddly snuggle monster, and he has the goofiest, happiest, most squeezable face !! Mosley is house trained and crate trained, and he walks very well on a leash. He does well with other dogs when properly introduced and he likes respectful kids. He can take a moment to open up and feel comfortable, but when he does he is an absolute love bug. Mosley is neutered, microchipped and up to date on shots. His adoption fee is $250. To adopt Mosley apply at www.rescueofhope.com/adoption-application

Maxine is a 42 pound, 3 year old Staffy Mix with the biggest, happiest smile !! She is so super sweet and cuddly – she’s essentially a Care Bear. Max’s three favorite things are as follows: Cheese. Giving her humans smooches while cuddling on the couch watching Netflix. Cheese again. Her ears are legendary cute; and she is a fantastic listener. She brings so much joy to any environment she’s in. We just love her. Maxine is house trained and crate trained, and she does very well with humans of all ages but prefers a home with no cats. With proper introductions, she can be buddies with dogs. Maxine is spayed, microchipped and up to date on shots. Her adoption fee has been sponsored by a generous donor. To adopt Maxine apply at www.rescueofhope.com/adoption-application
