The following animals are available for adoption. If you find an animal you’d like to adopt please contact the organization directly. Lowell’s First Look does not assist with the adoption process. And if you’re looking to add to your family and don’t see an animal below, each organization has additional cats, dogs, or farm animals looking for new homes. Pet profiles and photos are provided by each organization.
For additional information about each organization visit their websites or read our intro article to Furry Friday! The following pet profiles are provided by each rescue.
Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary
Those involved with Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary take pride in finding the right home for dogs in their care. Here are their pets of the week.
Brady, Charlotte and their siblings were born on 3/18/18. They have a wonderful and tiny momma named Minni. She is a Bassett hound mix. There are 9 puppies all together, and we are ready to start accepting applications now. Please be patient though, as the puppies will not be ready for adoption until after they are 8 weeks old (approximately three weeks) and medically cleared.
Carol’s Ferals
Carol’s Ferals specializes in trap, neuter, return (TNR), but they come across “friendlies” who are available for adoption. Here are their pets of the week.
River (male black/white)
In late summer 2017, my mom had kittens in a man’s backyard. I hung around, so CF rescued me and put me in the adoption program. I am extremely friendly and love being petted. Come meet me at the Happy Cat Cafe. You won’t be sorry!
Everly (female gray/white)
I was a neglected neighborhood cat, who was rescued from the streets. I am a little shy but love to be petted. I am new at CF, so I am still getting used to living with a lot of other cats. Come check me out!
Hudson (male orange tabby)
Eight years ago, a lady found me on her driveway when she moved in. I was just a kitten. She fed me and kept me in her garage along with other cats through the years. I was one of six cats trapped there, but the only one brought into the adoption program. I am a little reserved but a sweetie. Please don’t let my FIV+ status keep you from adopting me. Google it. I can live a long healthy life with a little extra attention if I look sick.
Vicky’s Pet Connection
Vicky’s Pet Connection works with the Kent County Animal Shelter to rescue cats and kittens. They also take in dogs older in age and those needing special care. Here are their pets of the week.
If you are a “cat person” you know that male, orange tabbies have a reputation for being great cats! Well, Apollo lives up to that reputation! This guy is a friendly, smart and affectionate guy that would slide seamlessly into many different homes. He’s just a year old so he is active and playful. Do you have room for a fellow who needs a new home?
