Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary

Those involved with Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary take pride in finding the right home for dogs in their care. Here are their pets of the week.

The two dogs featured with Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary have been profiled in the past.  However, they keep getting looked over.  They both need a home with an experienced family, but that doesn’t mean the right home can’t be found.  Take a look at Higbee who loves to cuddle.  And Hobbes is looking for a home with consistency and love.  Both of these guys would love to find their forever home where they can play and have fun this summer.

Higbee, is a super smart and cuddly boy. He was born on 11/08/2011. He knows lots of commands and markers. He is very good at walking with you. He loves tennis balls and wants to play with you. He would be best in a home with older kids, and an active family. He cannot have cats in the home, and he may not be the best fit for a kitty. He needs a large yard to run and play in. He loves his family and needs a structured environment and a family that isn’t a pushover.

Let me introduce myself, my name is Hobbes. My D.O.B. is 4/13/14. I was out running the roads when I was found and came to MAS. I used to be pretty mouthy and jumpy, but now I am doing so much better. I have worked on my commands, and walking skills, and if I do say so myself, I am doing really well. I may still bark at other dogs but even that has improved. I love to go for long walks and jogs with the team here. I even play with certain dogs. I would still be best with older kids. I would make a great companion for just the right person.

Hearts of Hope Dog Rescue
Hearts of Hope Dog Rescue look to find dogs in their care forever homes with the help of foster homes.  Here are their pets of the week.

Need a running partner? Call Ruby! Need someone to cuddle with? Call Ruby! Ruby is a nearly 7-year young hound, weighing less than 60 lbs. She has an abundance of energy to keep up with any active lifestyle. She is house trained, loves her crate, and above all craves her human’s contact. With proper introductions and a bit of time to become accustomed to them she can be good with other dogs. Currently she has become pals with her two foster dog siblings. Ruby’s foster mom feels that being in an only dog home may be just the perfect setting for Ruby at this stage in her life. Ruby needs an active household with older children or no children at all. Ruby has also demonstrated a wicked jumping ability, a fenced yard to keep is a must; the higher the better; to her safe and allow her to sniff to her heart’s content. She knows basic commands like sit and watch me and she is working on wait (stay), back, down and leave it. Ruby is a really quick learner and eager to learn any new trick you want to teach her. We would love to find Ruby a home with a family equally as dedicated to her as she will be to them. Ruby is spayed, up to date on vaccines, micro chipped, and has had heartworm/flea/tick prevention. Ruby’s adoption fee is $200. To adopt Ruby apply at www.rescueofhope.com/adoption-application/

This handsome guy with the amazing Yoda ears is Buddy !! Buddy is a 7 year old ChiYorkie Mix who is very smart and very sweet. When he isn’t busy teaching young Jedis the ways of The Force, Buddy can be found cuddled up on the couch with his foster Mom. He does well with other dogs, but he will do best in a home without small children. Buddy is chipped and up to date on his vetting. Come meet this amazing boy 🙂 Buddy’s adoption fee is $200. Vicky’s Pet Connection

Vicky’s Pet Connection works with the Kent County Animal Shelter to rescue cats and kittens.  They also take in dogs older in age and those needing special care. Here are their pets of the week.

Meet Emily!  If she looks like she’s ready for a nap, that’s because she just finished raising 3 kittens and that is exhausting work!   Emily’s work as a mother is all finished now and it’s time for HER to get a little pampering!  She’s just 3 years old and such a nice and gentle girl.  She’d love to find a home where she can finally unpack and enjoy a little of the good life!  Come meet her at The Critter Cottage in Ada and see if she is the one you’ve been waiting for!

Here is another of our “unwed mothers”!  A while back, Mysteek made the acquaintance of a certain male cat and he made her a lot of promises he just couldn’t keep. She was left with a litter of kittens to raise and no one to help her do it!  Well, she was a great mother and her babies are heading out to live their lives but that leaves Mysteek feeling a bit lonely.  She’s ready to find a family to love her and, at just 2 years of age, she will be the fun, playful friend that you’re looking for!
