Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary

Those involved with Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary take pride in finding the right home for dogs in their care. Here are their pets of the week.

My name is Rose. I’ve been told that I’m as pretty as a rose. MY D.O.B. is 12/06/15. I definitely have energy, but I can also settle down when I’m in a quiet room with some of my favorite people. I would love a home with a large fenced in yard, so I can run and play. I need a home with no other dogs or cats. I love to go on car rides and meet new people. I am a big fan of long walks with my human companion, and I am super smart. Our trainer at MAS takes me over to play on the agility equipment. I also am a cuddle fanatic and love to have my belly rubbed. I get a little nervous, with small children, and may jump on them. I am not the fondest of other dogs as well.

My name is Hannah. My D.O.B. is 5/02/16. I was found running the roads before I came to MAS. I am a petite young thing, and love to cuddle. I know how to sit, stay and come. I am okay in a crate. I love toys and like to run and play, I can even run along side a golf cart at MAS. I will need children that are older that can handle a dog jumping on them out of excitement. I have a dog named Ned I like to play with. Some dogs make me nervous though. I love plushy toys and have been working on my focus during behavior training. I would make a great addition to any family.

Vicky’s Pet Connection

Vicky’s Pet Connection works with the Kent County Animal Shelter to rescue cats and kittens.  They also take in dogs older in age and those needing special care. Here are their pets of the week.

Who doesn’t love a Taco? This 16 week old teenager is full of all the fun, mischief and energy that makes us all wish we were young again! He is an active, outgoing guy who will be the first to explore everything. A more appropriate name might have been Christopher Columbus! If you need  a brave, sturdy guy with a heart of gold, he’s your fellow!

Meet popcorn who, like his namesake, is always hopping around!  This active and fun kitten is  is about 10 weeks old (as of 6-27-2018) and is totally ready to bring his fun energy to a great family.  He loves to run, wrestle, explore and play so your family had better be ready for some fun if you adopt this little guy.

Hearts of Hope Dog Rescue

Hearts of Hope Dog Rescue look to find dogs in their care forever homes with the help of foster homes.  Here are their pets of the week.

Hello! It’s Sugar here! I’m a spunky little Chihuahua with lots of love to give. I’m about 9-10 years old and weigh about 9 pounds. The vet says I have a pound or so to lose, but I’m pretty cuddly just the way I am too. I’ve been bounced around a lot in life through no fault of my own and really want my next home to be my true forever home. My favorite activities are going for walks, snuggling with my foster mom, following her around the house and eating, not necessarily in that order. I am good with cats, dogs and kids but am hoping for a quieter household in which I don’t get bugged too much. I am house trained and crate trained but will likely need some time in my new home to adjust to the schedule and all the changes again. If you have a nice warm lap to snuggle on and would like a companion for some easy strolls, I’m your gal and I hope you will come meet me! My adoption fee is $150. Meet Mister Mario! Mario is a 3 year old Staffy mix who weighs 67 pounds and loves to smile – just look at that big happy face! Mario has been such a joy to have. He gets along well with kids, cats, and dogs, and he has been perfect in his crate and in the home without any accidents. Mario is both very social and very laid back. While he enjoys going for walks and meeting as many new friends as possible, he also loves snuggling on the couch with his favorite people. He’s the perfect combination of fun and chill. This clever boy knows basic commands and he’s eager to learn new things. He loves to please his humans and he does it all the while with a big happy grin! He is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots. Mario’s adoption fee is $200. To adopt Mario applied at www.rescueofhope.com/adoption-application/
