For additional information about each organization visit their websites or read our intro article to Furry Friday!  The following pet profiles are provided by each rescue.

Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary

Those involved with Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary take pride in finding the right home for dogs in their care. Here are their pets of the week.

Yuma, Irish and their siblings were born on 6/25/18. They have a wonderful momma named Carmel. She is a Cattle Dog mix. There are 8 puppies all together, and we are ready to start accepting applications now. Please be patient though, as the puppies will not be ready for adoption until after they are 8 weeks old and medically cleared.

Please visit the MAS website at www.mackenzies.info, and read about our adoption criteria. This site also has our adoption application and survey.  For safety’s sake, we are looking for homes with physical fenced in areas.

Vicky’s Pet Connection

Vicky’s Pet Connection works with the Kent County Animal Shelter to rescue cats and kittens.  They also take in dogs older in age and those needing special care. Here are their pets of the week.

“Kibbles” and “Bits” are a pair of adorable 8-10 week old kittens who would make an awesome “Dynamic Duo”!  They are good buddies that love to snuggle and play together so we’d love to find them a home together.  They were also BOTH born with lots of extra toes!  It’s a perfectly normal condition called “polydactyl” and it just makes them all that much more unique!  These little cuties are just two of the many kittens that will be up for adoption in the following weeks so be sure to watch our website for more adoptable kittens.

Hearts of Hope Dog Rescue

Hearts of Hope Dog Rescue look to find dogs in their care forever homes with the help of foster homes.  Here are their pets of the week.

Ruby is a nearly 7-year young hound weighing less than 60 lbs. She is house trained, loves her crate, and above all craves her human’s contact. Ruby promises to bring plenty of goofy energy to her new home and will make you laugh every day. Her two favorite things are running and snuggling. She loves going for runs and would make an amazing running partner. She also enjoys sniffing around in her backyard so a fence is a must for her. After she gets some good exercise this girl is ready to snuggle up against her person so she can soak in all the love her people have to give. Ruby is very smart and food motivated. She already knows basic commands like sit and watch me and she is working on wait (stay), back, down, and leave it. Ruby is a really quick learner and eager to learn any new trick you want to teach her. We would love to find Ruby a home with a family equally as dedicated to her as she will be to them. She would do best in a home with older kids due to her exuberance. Ruby is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. Ruby’s adoption fee is $200. Meet Mister Mario! Mario is a 3 year old Staffy mix who weighs 67 pounds and loves to smile – just look at that big happy face! Mario has been such a joy to have. He has been perfect in his crate and in the home without any accidents. Mario is both very social and very laid back. While he enjoys going for walks and meeting as many new friends as possible, he also loves snuggling on the couch with his favorite people. He’s the perfect combination of fun and chill. Mario does well with cats and older kids in his home, but he would prefer not to share his home with other dogs as he doesn’t like to share his toys with them. That being said, he is good with other dogs outside of the home! This clever boy knows basic commands and he’s eager to learn new things. He loves to please his humans and he does it all the while with a big happy grin! He is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots. Mario’s adoption fee is $200. To adopt Mario applied at www.rescueofhope.com/adoption-application/
