Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary

Those involved with Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary take pride in finding the right home for dogs in their care. Here are their pets of the week.

Harmony and Melody arrived at MAS as a pair, and would love to find a forever home together. Melody is a 3-year old beagle. In true beagle nature, she loves to follow her nose on walks and sniff out everything she can! Melody can be a little shy of new people and things at first, and looks to her sister, Harmony for confidence. Once she’s comfortable, she’s a sweet and playful gal that loves attention and loves to give kisses!

Harmony is a 4-year old beagle. In true beagle nature, she loves to follow her nose on walks and sniff out everything she can! Harmony can be a little shy of new people and things at first, but once she’s comfortable, she’s a sweet and playful gal that loves attention!

Lenny was out running the roads, and was super skinny when he made his way to MAS. He is a super sweet, and loving boy. Likes to be by people and does well with older children. Very curious about what you are doing. His D.O.B. is 4/02/14. He likes car rides, and likes to run and play in the play yards. Has done well with his dog introductions. He will need older kids in the home, as he may be nervous of the high energy really young kids can bring.

Vicky’s Pet Connection

Vicky’s Pet Connection works with the Kent County Animal Shelter to rescue cats and kittens.  They also take in dogs older in age and those needing special care. Here are their pets of the week.

This sleek, shiny black panther is named “Whisper” and she has the quiet meow and gentle demeanor that earns her the name!  She is around 3 years old (although that is just a guess) and so full of good energy and affection!  Her fur feels like the finest mink coat and you’ll get plenty of time to feel it because she really enjoys being close to her people.  She’s a great cat waiting for a great family!

If you love a “hands on” cat who wants to be in the middle of the action, check out “Joker”.  This 4 month old kitten is confident and happy and LOVES to sit with you and purr, purr, purr.  Like most young cats, he playful and active and he is sure to explore every nook and cranny of your house!  He can be adopted alone or he has a few “friends” that he likes to play with so be sure to consider two!

Hearts of Hope Dog Rescue look to find dogs in their care forever homes with the help of foster homes.  Here are their pets of the week.

Crash is 60 pounds of lovable, lap dog, doofus face! He is always smiling, always happy, and always ready to give kisses! His personality is so wonderful; everyone that meets him instantly falls in love with him. Crash is selective about his doggie friends, but has a happy go lucky demeanor that makes everyone laugh. Crash is house trained and crate trained and learning how to walk nicely on a leash. Because of his size and energy, he would do best in a home without smaller children. He would love to find a forever family that will take him to puppy classes. Crash is a 1 year old Lab/Staffy mix. He is neutered, microchipped, up to date on his vetting, and excited to meet you and give you a hug! Crash’s adoption fee is $200. To adopt Crash apply at www.rescueofhope.com/adoption-application/

This adorable little angel is Amber! Amber is a 40 pound, one year old Staffy mix who has the cutest, scrunchy brow! Amber is a wonderful companion. Her foster family adores her. She’s super sweet, she listens well, and she’s constantly bringing love, warmth, and positive energy to their home.Amber does well with cats and kids. Although she gets along with dogs, she would prefer to be the only dog in the home. She is doing exceptionally well on her crate training; she is very easy to train! She has already learned some basic commands and is eager to learn more. Amber is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on her vetting! Amber’s adoption fee is $200.
