Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary

Those involved with Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary take pride in finding the right home for dogs in their care. Here are their pets of the week.

Phoenix, Yuma, and Irish are three sisters who were born on 6/25/18. Her Momma is Carmel, a Cattle Dog mix. These three are the last of the litter to find their “Forever Homes”. They are all full of love and life. They will need someone to teach them all the new things about life. Learning how to walk well on lead, and do learning commands.

My name is Maxx!! My D.O.B. is 5/27/16. I am one sweet and dapper dude. Do you like my Bow-tie? I was one of the statistics out in the world, where the owner up and leaves the dog in the home. I was abandoned. A kind neighbor took me in with little kids, and dogs and cats. I did well with all of them. I can be a little bossy but with the right “Pack Leader” that should not be an issue. I love toys, but will chew them if you leave them out to long. I know a couple commands and love car rides. If you want to hike, and travel, I’m the dog companion for you.

Vicky’s Pet Connection

Vicky’s Pet Connection works with the Kent County Animal Shelter to rescue cats and kittens.  They also take in dogs older in age and those needing special care. Here are their pets of the week.

Memphis and Meteo are a pair of look-alike brothers  looking for a home. When you are just 9 weeks old, the world can look very big to you and it can take a while to get used to things! That’s the case for these little fellows. They are busy and inquisitive but it takes them just a little time to get used to new places and people. For this reason, a quieter home where they can slowly “bloom” would be best! They can be adopted singly but they are much braver when their brother is nearby! They also love run and wrestle together so….why not adopt both?

Hearts of Hope Dog Rescue

Hearts of Hope Dog Rescue look to find dogs and sometimes cats in their care forever homes with the help of foster homes.  Here are their pets of the week.

Trip is a 4 month old mixed breed puppy full of love and ready to have a lot of fun. We suspect he is a pittie mixed with something bigger as he is already 30 pounds and is just going to keep growing! He absolutely loves other dogs and would love a home with a dog friend! He loves to play hard until he’s ready to crash and take a nap near his people. He is very smart and loves everyone. He would probably do best in a home with older children as he is still learning his size, but everyone he meets is his new best friend. We aren’t sure how he is with cats but would be happy to have him meet yours! Trip is working hard on house training and he is doing well with crate training too. He is hoping to find a family who will work with him on obedience training so he can be the best dog he can be. Trip is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots. His adoption fee is $300. Mew is a spirited little girl looking for her perfect pack. She loves to be surrounded by cat and dog friends. She will do zoomies around the living room and then snuggle you all night in bed. If you’re looking for a feisty, fun-loving kitten who could be “just one of the dogs” look no further! Mew is about 8 weeks old and will be ready for adoption soon. She would prefer an active home with fur-siblings.
Mew will be spayed, microchipped, and is up to date on shots. Her adoption fee is $75. To adopt Mew apply at www.rescueofhope.com/adoption-application/

Carol’s Ferals

Carol’s Ferals specializes in trap, neuter, return (TNR), but they come across “friendlies” who are available for adoption. Here are their pets of the week.

Hi, I’m Lukie! I’m part of the Star Wars litter here at CF. We were rescued on May 4th, so our foster momma couldn’t resist naming us after her favorite characters. I love people and enjoy being cuddled and loved on- I’m a huge sweetheart.

Hi, I’m Vader! I’m a bit of a grump, but I think it looks that way because of my adorable baby eyebrows. I’m about 5 months old and came here with my other Star Wars littermates. We are all playful and have the loudest motors you’ve ever heard. Come meet me and my siblings and see if we could bring The Force to your life!

Hi, I’m Leia. I was rescued back on May 4th, along with my other siblings from the Star Wars litter. Our foster mom couldn’t resist the irony of finding us on that date! I’m a pretty shy girl, but once I’m snuggled I will purr up a storm.
