Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary

Those involved with Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary take pride in finding the right home for dogs in their care. Here are their pets of the week.

Maveric is his name, and one of a kind is his game. His D.O.B. is 11/22/15. He is still really a youngster. Super sweet. He has plenty of energy to go around and really needs a home with another dog, as he loves to play. He also gets lonely when you are gone so another dog is great company for him. He really likes his humans including younger children as well. He loves walks, and running with you, as well as camping. He really is an all around good guy.

My name is Tatiana!! My D.O.B. is 1/09/10. You may have heard of me, as I made national headlines a couple years ago. I was the dog who was beaten with a baseball bat, my legs and mouth were bound with duct tape, and I was left in the woods of Lansing to die. I was saved by a kind individual and I have been in the rescue system since. Now, I live at Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary, and I am so happy to be here. I have had many supporters while I was getting well. I am now cleared to find my “Forever Home.” I am a very loving and sweet girl. I am going to need a home with adults, and an experienced owner. This would be because of my past experiences and nothing more. I do not like other dogs, so a home with me as the only doggie would be great. I am highly intelligent and know lots of commands and tricks. I really love the warm weather, and like to stay busy by taking long walks, splashing around in the pond, and even playing fetch! I am wiggly and loving and can’t wait to share that with the right person.

Vicky’s Pet Connection

Vicky’s Pet Connection works with the Kent County Animal Shelter to rescue cats and kittens.  They also take in dogs older in age and those needing special care. Here are their pets of the week.

Looking for a beauty of a cat? How about Aspen. This gorgeous girl just finished raising a litter of 6 kittens and now she is ready for love herself! She is a very sweet and social girl who would thrive in lots of different households. She is just a happy kitty with a purr that just goes on and on!

Gus is just one of those great, big armfuls of cats that are so easy to love! He’s only a year old so he is plenty playful and full of spunk but still enjoys a good snuggle. He’s a happy guy that will make YOU happy too!

Hearts of Hope Dog Rescue

Hearts of Hope Dog Rescue look to find dogs and sometimes cats in their care forever homes with the help of foster homes.  Here are their pets of the week.

This special soul is a great companion, a proud mama, and an elegant beauty. Aqua is a 45 pound, 2-3 year old shepherd mix who came to our rescue all the way from our good friends at Animals Lebanon. She brought five adorable puppies with her, most of which are already bigger than her! Aqua would love someone who will take her to obedience classes and teach her new things. She is very food motivated and is doing great with house and crate training in her foster home. Aqua loves other dogs once she gets to know them and would do well in most any home with her laid back personality. We don’t know how she feels about cats though. Aqua takes a brief moment to trust new people, but after a short visit she melts hearts and brings smiles to anyone she meets. This gorgeous and intelligent lady is spayed, microchipped, up to date on her shots, and excited to meet you! Her adoption fee is $200. Waffles is a four month old shepherd mix in training to be the perfect loyal companion. He absolutely loves pleasing his people and always wants to be by their side. While he is still working on manners and learning the ropes of being a ‘good boy’, Waffles is a quick learner. He will do almost anything for a treat and enjoys learning new behaviors. He is a very cautious puppy and can be easily frightened, so it may take a little bit for him to warm up to new people and experiences. However, he does love other dogs and gains confidence being around them. He would love a home with another dog or at least opportunities to interact with canine friends on a regular basis. When he isn’t playing with his people or friends, Waffles loves bones and just lounging around. He is a pretty easy-going, lazy puppy once he settles in. While he has been picking up on crate and potty training quickly, it will take some time and patience for him to truly master these skills. He is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on his shots. His adoption fee is $300. To meet this little sweetheart apply at www.rescueofhope.com/adoption-application/

Carol’s Ferals

Carol’s Ferals specializes in trap, neuter, return (TNR), but they come across “friendlies” who are available for adoption. Here are their pets of the week.

Hi, I’m Bacon. I’m so thankful I was rescued by an amazing lady who was able to bring me to Carol’s Ferals. I was a part of a colony, but the bigger cats ran me off and then I got a little sick. I’m a little shy, but once I come out of my shell, I LOVE pets and snuggles and giving head boops. I am FIV+, but that won’t stop be from living my best life!

Hi, I’m Lance! I’m a friendly, gentle boy looking for my furever home. I’m FIV positive, but I can live with other cats who are not! I’m good with other cats as long as they don’t get in my face.

Hi, I’m Miko. I was born in September 2017, and came to Carol’s a few months later. I was adopted for awhile, but it didn’t work out and I was brought back here. I know my perfect furever home is out there for me; could it be yours? I’m a little shy, so I’ll need a family that will be patient with me. I lived with older kids so I’d probably be okay with them, but I’m not sure about little kids. Come visit me today!
