The following animals are available for adoption.  If you find an animal you’d like to adopt please contact the organization directly.  Lowell’s First Look does not assist with the adoption process. And if you’re looking to add to your family and don’t see an animal below, each organization has additional cats, dogs, or farm animals looking for new homes.   Pet profiles and photos are provided by each organization.

Vicky’s Pet Connection

Vicky’s Pet Connection works with the Kent County Animal Shelter to rescue cats and kittens.  They also take in dogs older in age and those needing special care. Here are their pets of the week.

Some cats are the life of the party while others are more inclined to enjoy the quiet.  Opal is one of those kittens who blooms in a quieter environment.  She a silky-soft tuxedo kitten just 12 weeks of age and she’s made incredible progress with our volunteers.  At first, she was completely timid but now really enjoys the caresses of people she knows.  She is a little unsure of the world and would just do best with a real cat lover that will let her progress at her own pace.   She has several kitten friends that she would do great with if you have room for two!   She’s hanging out at The Critter Cottage in Ada so come meet her!

Hearts of Hope Dog Rescue

Hearts of Hope Dog Rescue look to find dogs and sometimes cats in their care forever homes with the help of foster homes.  Here are their pets of the week.

My name is Emmy and I am a 10 year old female boxer mix that weighs around 65 pounds. I came to Hearts of Hope with heartworm, but I went through treatment and I’m feeling great now! I am a very sweet, loyal girl and I love everyone! I love to play fetch, but if I play too much, I get really stiff in my back end from arthritis. As long as my new family limits my exuberant ball fetching, I will be fine. I have great house manners. I don’t get up on the furniture and I am completely house trained. I get along with other dogs and I have been around cats. My foster mom thinks I would be fine with a confident cat that stands it’s ground. If a kitty runs, I will chase it. Of course, if my foster mom tells me “leave it” or “no” I listen. If you would enjoy a happy, laid back companion, I just might be the girl for you! I am up-to-date on my vaccines, spayed, microchipped, and on flea and heartworm preventative. My adoption fee is $200. To adopt me apply at www.rescueofhope.com/adoption-application/

Hi there, it’s Lola! I’m a 6 month old female mixed pointer breed who came all the way here from Beirut Lebanon to play with you! I’m an energetic, fun and spunky little thing weighing in at 33 pounds. Since I do have a lot of energy, I would love to find a forever person who can exercise me with walks or runs every day. After a nice long walk, I love to snuggle with my foster family or sit and chew on my Benebone. I didn’t learn a lot of manners before coming all the way to the States, so I need someone who is committed to teaching me everything I need to know to be that perfect pup that’s inside me. I’m a super fast learner though and am quickly learning my basic commands and do quite well on a leash. I get along well with other dogs and cats(cats are kinda scary). I’m good with kids, but because sometimes I forget not to jump I would be best without small children as I would accidentally knock them over. I am house and crate trained. One last thing – wait until you see my tail! It’s super long and curls all the way around in a circle! My foster family loves to play with it and uncoil it! Please come meet me! Carol’s Ferals

Carol’s Ferals specializes in trap, neuter, return (TNR), but they come across “friendlies” who are available for adoption. Here are their pets of the week.

This week’s Cats are some of our shyer ones. The Adoption staff can give adopters tips on working with them.

HI! My name is Hemi. I am about 9 years.  I was living in a colony of 40-50 cats. There was a kind man who feed us and gave us Shelter, but he got sick. The Lady that became my rescuer started feeding us; she realized that I was pretty sick.  She trapped me and brought me to Carol’s Ferals.  After a lot of TLC, I’m ready for adoption.

I am still quite shy so I need a patient family who is willing to work with me.  I probably wouldn’t be too good with children.  I do like other cats.

My name is Myriah  They think was born in 2012. I came to Carol’s Ferals in the spring of this year I am on the shy side but I will ask attention and pets.  I would do best in a quiet and patient home.  I do have FIV but I can live with others who aren’t.

My Name is Melina.  I am about 2 years old.  I was very shy and scared when I came.  I am doing better. I would love to have a home of my own.  Right now I have about 20 roommates which more than I would like I would probably be all right with another cat and possibly a dog if we were properly introduced.
