Furry Friday

The following animals are available for adoption.  If you find an animal you’d like to adopt please contact the organization directly.  Lowell’s First Look does not assist with the adoption process. And if you’re looking to add to your family and don’t see an animal below, each organization has additional cats, dogs, or farm animals looking for new homes.   Pet profiles and photos are provided by each organization.

For additional information about each organization visit their websites or read our intro article to Furry Friday!  The following pet profiles are provided by each rescue.

Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary

Those involved with Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary take pride in finding the right home for dogs in their care. Here are their pets of the week.

Gizmo is such a little cutie pie!! Very sweet and loving. His D.O.B. is 9-10-15. He does well in the car, and really likes to hang out with the adoption coordinator in the office at Mackenzie’s. He has done well with kids, cats, and small dogs. He is really adorable the way he looks up at you, and turns his little front foot out. He really seems so happy and care free.

Boris is a special dog. He came to MAS totally emaciated, with a giant sore on his front leg. His D.O.B. is 8/12/15. At 91 lbs he is so underweight for a dog of his size. He lived with an individual who could not adequately care for a dog of his size. He was not taught manners, or commands. Since coming to MAS he is working with the team on lead training, and basic commands. He is a super happy dog, and in his exuberance can be very mouthy and jumpy. All things the staff is happy to work with. He is adoptable and will be a great addition to the right owner. He should not go to a home with toddlers. He really should be an only child himself.

Vicky’s Pet Connection

Vicky’s Pet Connection works with the Kent County Animal Shelter to rescue cats and kittens.  They also take in dogs older in age and those needing special care. Here are their pets of the week.

This  girl is named Ireland and she is a torbi-colored beauty!  She had a litter of kittens and had to raise them as a single mother.  Her work is done with them now, though, and she’s ready to kick up her paws and relax a bit.  She is a smart, somewhat independent girl but she does enjoy giving and getting affection.  Does that sound like a cat you could love?

Carol’s Ferals

Carol’s Ferals specializes in trap, neuter, return (TNR), but they come across “friendlies” who are available for adoption. Here are their pets of the week.

This week Carol’s Ferals are featuring the Cheese Factory litter.

Hi, I’m Ricotta, my siblings and I came to Carol’s Ferals after being rescued in June of this year.   I am shy and I need a patient family that is willing to help me get over my shyness and become a great member of the family.

My Name is Brie, I am a sister to Ricotta.  I’m also shy and will need a patient family to help me become the best cat I can be.

Pepper Jack is my name and I’m a Brother to the other two.  I’m also shy and needed extra patient and TLC to overcome my shyness. Come visit us. We have three other siblings, Parmesan, Monteray and Romano also looking for a forever home.

Hearts of Hope Dog Rescue

Hearts of Hope Dog Rescue look to find dogs and sometimes cats in their care forever homes with the help of foster homes.  Here are their pets of the week.

Super Sweet Smokey Robinson is a gentle, kind, soulful, sweet boy with a charming smile and a pleasant, calming personality. This Senior (11 year old) Staffy Mix has such a disarming presence; it’s so genuine. He has the best heart, and he wants nothing more than to give love willingly and generously. He is so easy, he will fit right in to any home lucky enough to have his kindness. Smokey loves cats, dogs and humans of all ages. This sweet older boy is chipped, up to date on his vetting, and ready to fill a home with so much happiness. His adoption fee is $200. Adorable Agnes is a 10 month old Great Dane puppy with beautiful, big, brown eyes and a goofy personality. Aggie is crate trained and house trained, and she is smart as a whip! Aggie’s goofiness comes out more quickly when there’s another dog at home, but she would also do well as the only pet. She gets along well with cats and older kids. Aggie would do best in a home without smaller children on account of her size. This sweetheart is a touch shy at first, but when she trusts you, she’ll be on you like Velcro! Aggie loves her humans and she is very affectionate; she is quite the cuddle monster! She is spayed, microchipped, up to date on her vetting, and ready to make you fall in love! Her adoption fee is $300. To adopt Aggie apply at www.rescueofhope.com/adoption-application/
