Furry Friday

The following animals are available for adoption.  If you find an animal you’d like to adopt please contact the organization directly.  Lowell’s First Look does not assist with the adoption process. And if you’re looking to add to your family and don’t see an animal below, each organization has additional cats, dogs, or farm animals looking for new homes.   Pet profiles and photos are provided by each organization.

For additional information about each organization visit their websites or read our intro article to Furry Friday!  The following pet profiles are provided by each rescue.

Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary

Those involved with Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary take pride in finding the right home for dogs in their care. Here are their pets of the week.

My name is Taz and I found my way to MAS due to my owners abandoning me in the home. I was in pretty bad shape, but am doing well now. I do have some health issues, but I would say I am doing better than ever. I love attention and just hanging with my people. I am nervous of some people, so not the best with young children in the home. I just need a laid back owner, and atmosphere to live out my days. My D.O.B. is 4/10/11.

My name is Lance! I’m a handsome 3-year old shepherd mix – so I’ve been told. I’m always on the go, and if I’m being honest, that’s the way I like it! I’d love to find an active family that likes to walk, run, hike…and is looking for a four-legged companion to join them on their adventures!

Vicky’s Pet Connection

Vicky’s Pet Connection works with the Kent County Animal Shelter to rescue cats and kittens.  They also take in dogs older in age and those needing special care. Here are their pets of the week.

This lovely girl is named Skye and she came to us with a litter of kittens. She did the hard work of raising her little crew and now she’s ready to kick back and relax! We think Skye is around 3-4 years of age and she has just beautiful markings on her coat. She is a little on the shy side so would probably do better with a quieter home without other cats. Does this sound like a kitty you could love?

Hearts of Hope Dog Rescue

Hearts of Hope Dog Rescue look to find dogs and sometimes cats in their care forever homes with the help of foster homes.  Here are their pets of the week.

Hi I’m Zeek and I’m a 6 month old puppy with lots of energy and love to give! Some of my favorite things to do are playing fetch, giving kisses and going for walks! I have lots of energy and am very playful. I try to play with the bigger dogs in my foster home all of the time! My energy can be a bit much for some dogs though so I would do best in a home as an only dog for now. I love making friends with people but might be a bit too rambunctious for young kids soo I would do best in a home with older kids to play with. I’m a sweet boy who’s looking for someone to love on and who will help train me to be the best pup I can be. I would benefit from some puppy classes to work on my manners but aim to please and can’t wait to learn with my new family! Please consider giving me a forever home with you! Zeek is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots. His adoption fee is $200. To adopt Zeek apply at www.rescueofhope.com/adoption-application/

Jack is a cuddly, laid back, 10 pound munchkin who loves to be wherever his humans are. This 8 year old Chihuahua has a very expressive gaze and a soft, tender heart. We love his adorable little face so much! Jack loves to burrow under blankets during his pre-nap ritual; it’s absolutely hilarious and adorable. He struggles a bit with stairs, but he loves being held by his favorite humans. Jack is neutered, microchipped, up to date on his vaccinations, and ready to find his forever home! His adoption fee is $200. To adopt Jack apply at www.rescueofhope.com/adoption-application/
