Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary

Those involved with Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary take pride in finding the right home for dogs in their care. Here are their pets of the week.

I’m Stormy! I’m a two year old husky mix – I was found as a stray before coming to Mackenzie’s. My D.O.B. is 10/28/16. As a husky, I’m pretty high energy. I love attention, but I also have a bit of an independent streak. I love to run straight to you and try to get on your lap. I love to snuggle and love attention. I really like rawhide’s and my food, so I am working on sharing, at MAS as we speak. I would be best with kids over 12.

My name is Kodi. I was taken into animal control because my past owner said they did not have time for me. I am currently working on my manners and sitting at doors til the staff says okay. I probably would be great in a home with older kids and adults, no toddlers. I love to play, but I am a big guy, so could accidentally knock someone over. My D.O.B. is 3-22-13.
I love walks, and playing in the yard. Lots of trail walks would be my dream.

Vicky’s Pet Connection

Vicky’s Pet Connection works with the Kent County Animal Shelter to rescue cats and kittens.  They also take in dogs older in age and those needing special care. Here are their pets of the week.

Sweet Molly is a delightful 2-3 year old girl who gave birth to a litter of kittens just after arriving at our local shelter. We transferred her to our program where she spent weeks tenderly caring for those babies as well as taking care of an orphan or two as well! Molly is a little shy at first but she is a very sweet girl and just needs some time and a quieter household to bloom. A “cat person” will totally dig this girl!

Hearts of Hope Dog Rescue

Hearts of Hope Dog Rescue look to find dogs and sometimes cats in their care forever homes with the help of foster homes.  Here are their pets of the week.

Bane is a stunning 11 month old Belgian Malinois that is ready for his new home. He is a typical goofy puppy with an amazing personality and he lives to please his people. Bane is great with kids and other dogs (no cats please, they’re too fun to chase) and is looking for a family that will appreciate and work his brain. He is house trained and crate trained and he knows sit, stay, shake, lay down, leave it, place, and is working on even more commands. He needs training sessions daily to practice what he knows and keep his mind busy. He does have the start of hip dysplasia, however our vet believes that with pain management as needed he will still live a fulfilling and long life. Because of this he will not make a good playmate for another high energy dog. A laid back or older dog sibling would be a better match. Bane is neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccines. His adoption fee is $250. To adopt Bane apply at www.rescueofhope.com/adoption-application/

Tug is a laid back, kind hearted, sweet boy who loves his naps. Everyone he meets instantly falls in love with him and his calming demeanor. There is a little goofiness in him too, which is darling to see. Tug is a 50 pound, 8 year old Staffy Mix who does well with other dogs. He would do well in a home either as the only pet, or in a home with more laid back pups that match his speed. There is truly something special in Tug. He is a true gentleman and a wonderful soul. He will bring so much love to any home lucky enough to have him. Tug is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots. His adoption fee is $200. Carol’s Ferals

Carol’s Ferals specializes in trap, neuter, return (TNR), but they come across “friendlies” who are available for adoption. Here are their pets of the week.

Hi, I’m Beauty. I came to Carol’s Ferals in May 2017 after I was turned in to the Kent County Animal Shelter. I’m shy, so thankfully I came here where the volunteers will work with me. I will take lots of time, but my friends believe that once I get to a good place, I’ll be a wonderful addition to your family.I have gotten better recently, though I am a still shy.  I would be best with someone who’s experienced with shy cats.

My name is Buttons, and I have been at Carol’s Ferals since October 2017. I’m a shy girl, but when volunteers come in to visit I love getting pets and attention. I would love a quiet home where I could have my own space, but I would probably do fine in a home with another cat. I don’t know how I’d do with dogs, kids, or other animals quite yet, but I’m am learning to trust my surroundings.

Hi, I’m Green Bean. I am an older gentleman looking for my forever home. I am very gentle and loving and my foster mom says the way to my heart is with a can of food! I am super easy going – won’t you come pay me a visit?
