Furry Friday

The following animals are available for adoption.  If you find an animal you’d like to adopt please contact the organization directly.  Lowell’s First Look does not assist with the adoption process. And if you’re looking to add to your family and don’t see an animal below, each organization has additional cats, dogs, or farm animals looking for new homes.   Pet profiles and photos are provided by each organization.

For additional information about each organization visit their websites or read our intro article to Furry Friday!  The following pet profiles are provided by each rescue.

Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary

Those involved with Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary take pride in finding the right home for dogs in their care. Here are their pets of the week.

Mika is a super strong girl. She loves to go on walks, but will pull the heck out of you. For that reason we are working on her lead training. Whew!! She would make a great companion for running, and hiking. She loves kids and other dogs. She really needs an active family, that loves to camp and spend time outdoors. Her D.O.B. is 8/26/16. Still a young girl that will eventually settle down.

My name is Maui! Even though I’m technically an adult (my DOB is 10/26/16), I have tons of energy…I could be mistaken for a pup half my age! I can be shy at first, but some tasty treats help me to come out of my shell pretty quickly. Once I’m comfortable, I love to play and love attention.

Vicky’s Pet Connection

Vicky’s Pet Connection works with the Kent County Animal Shelter to rescue cats and kittens.  They also take in dogs older in age and those needing special care. Here are their pets of the week.

There is a “Blizzard” coming and it’s me! My name is Blizzard and I’m part of a litter of kittens named Blizzard, Jack and Frost! We’re just 4 months old so everything is so new to us! We can’t wait to learn all about the world so we do lots of running, playing and exploring. We LOVE to play together so if you have room in your home and heart, why not adopt TWO of us??

Hearts of Hope Dog Rescue

Hearts of Hope Dog Rescue look to find dogs and sometimes cats in their care forever homes with the help of foster homes.  Here are their pets of the week.

Diesel is a very cool, pleasant, little gentleman who is extremely lovable !! He has a very special way about him. We adore him and his tiny, cuddly face. He is house trained and knows many commands, including ‘roll over’ which is impressive to see. He loves walks, does very well on a leash and he’s house trained !! Diesel will do best in a more laid back home without smaller children. He is a 10 year old MinPin who loves his people. He has flourished in the time he has been in his foster home. He is chipped, up to date on his vetting, and ready to meet you!! Diesel is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and will be microchipped before going to his forever home. His adoption fee is $150. To adopt Diesel apply at www.rescueofhope.com/adoption-application/

Meet Max the Wonder Dog! Max is a 2 year old Basenji mix that is full of spunk and energy! He enjoys playing with his toys and running laps around the house playing with his Foster brothers. Max loves people and spending time with them. He enjoys playing, going for walks and cuddling on the couch. He is great with kids and other dogs and is house trained. He is up to date on his vaccinations and is chipped. Max is looking for a family to love him as much as he is going to love you! Max is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and will be microchipped before going to his forever home. His adoption fee is $200. To adopt Max apply at www.rescueofhope.com/adoption-application/

Carol’s Ferals

Carol’s Ferals specializes in trap, neuter, return (TNR), but they come across “friendlies” who are available for adoption. Here are their pets of the week.

Hi, I’m Dorito – aren’t I a handsome boy?! Sometimes I get carried away with the other cats and don’t know when to stop but I do like to have fun and play! I even put up with being dressed up for a photo op.  Come see me soon.

Hi, my name is Bam Bam.  I’m ready for a date with my new furever family.  I am a very sweet, outgoing young man. I get along very well with my feline roommates and love to play with my toys.

Hi, I’m Graham. I was rescued in April 2018 and came to Carol’s shortly after. I’m a friendly guy! I would love to find a furever family that would keep me save and give me lots of love and attention.  As you will see I love my food dish too, I think if I had a family of my own I could lose some weight so I could even have more fun with them.
