Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary

Those involved with Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary take pride in finding the right home for dogs in their care. Here are their pets of the week.

Hey there, I’m Cletus! One of the most handsome hounds at Mackenzie’s!  In addition to my good looks, you may have heard about my absolutely legendary cuddles – I’m one of the best cuddlers MAS has to offer. Sometimes I can be shy with new people, but anyone will tell you that my cuddles are worth the wait!

Since I’m shy at first with new people and new things, a quiet and laid-back home would be best for me. I’d prefer to be the only pet in the home since I can be pretty picky about my four-legged friends. Once I’m comfortable with my new environment and after I’ve built up some more confidence, I might be up for more adventures. I love going for car rides, and I ride like a perfect gentleman! I’m happy to lounge around on the couch, but I’d also be interested in checking out hiking trails and tapping into my hound senses. But for now, walks, snuggles, and movie nights are some of the things I like best.

Now that colder weather is here, everyone needs a cuddle buddy – and that could be me! Fill out an application and mention me!

My name is Indie-Anna-Jones. My D.O.B is 5/9/14. I love spending time with people and will try to be a lap dog if you let me. I would do best in a home without any small animals, including kitty cats, I just am not the biggest fan, and will display prey drive. I love to follow my nose, so I do need a home with a physical fenced yard. I absolutely love toys – especially ones that squeak! I do like to shred them though. I love to be active and need a family that can get me out for walks and play time. I am good at running next to the golf cart up and down the roads at Mackenzie’s.

Vicky’s Pet Connection

Vicky’s Pet Connection works with the Kent County Animal Shelter to rescue cats and kittens.  They also take in dogs older in age and those needing special care. Here are their pets of the week.

This lovely girl is named Skye and she came to us with a litter of kittens. She did the hard work of raising her little crew and now she’s ready to kick back and relax! We think Skye is around 3-4 years of age and she has just beautiful markings on her coat. She is a little on the shy side so would probably do better with a quieter home without other cats.  She is an elegant girl who would love to unpack her bags once and for all….at YOUR house!

Carol’s Ferals

Carol’s Ferals specializes in trap, neuter, return (TNR), but they come across “friendlies” who are available for adoption. Here are their pets of the week.

Hi, My name is Mau.  I got this name because my foster mom says my meow sounds like “Mau” The volunteer who took this picture. says I’m talkative and adorable.

Hi, My name is Trunk.  My foster mom says that I’m a sweet and Goofy guy.  Come and see me at Carol’s Ferals!

My name is Hemi, and I am possibly the “founding” father of a colony that was around 45 or 50 cats. The guy that lived there took care of them as far as giving them food and shelter, but when he became ill we were left on our own. I was ill too, but my rescuer says I’ve always been a sweet boy. One time they came to check on me and I was really sick so they used a drop trap to catch me. That’s how I came to CF in January 2017.
After a lot of TLC, I’m available for adoption! I’m still quite shy, so I’ll need a quiet home with a patient family.

Hearts of Hope Dog Rescue

Hearts of Hope Dog Rescue look to find dogs and sometimes cats in their care forever homes with the help of foster homes.  Here are their pets of the week.

Meet Tiger the 15 year old MinPin !! This kind hearted, older gentleman does very well with cats, dogs and humans of all ages. This goofy boy loves to burrow under blankets before he settles in for snuggles and naps. He is simply adorable.Tiger is blind and will need a patient and relaxed home without tiny sharp corners ? He is very smart and adjusts quickly to his surroundings. And when he recognizes your voice, he does an adorable little dance when he hears you coming !! He has a very laid back personality, and he loves to play (gently) with his doggie buddies. This pup is truly one of a kind; we are so excited to meet his future adopters !! Tiger will be chipped and up to date on his vetting; he is excited to meet you!! Please consider this adorable old man! His adoption fee is $100. To adopt Tiger apply at www.rescueofhope.com/adoption-application/

Are you looking for a sweet lap dog? Sophia is your girl! This lanky 9 year old Chihuahua tips the scales at a whole 8 pounds. She is mostly blind, but that doesn’t keep her from doing what she loves most – sitting in your lap or laying on the couch. This girl is a lover of blankets. She can see a little during the daylight hours, but at night she is much more prone to bumping into things, so she will need a patient family who knows she will need time to learn a new floor plan and to understand her surroundings. Sophia is pee pad trained and working on being completely house trained. She is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. Her adoption fee is $150 to help with her vet care.
