For additional information about each organization visit their websites or read our intro article to Furry Friday!  The following pet profiles are provided by each rescue.

Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary

Those involved with Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary take pride in finding the right home for dogs in their care. Here are their pets of the week.

My name is Rose. I’ve been told that I’m as pretty as a rose. MY D.O.B. is 12/06/15. I definitely have energy, but I can also settle down when I’m in a quiet room with some of my favorite people. I would love a home with a large fenced in yard, so I can run and play. I need a home with no other dogs or cats. I love to go on car rides and meet new people. I am a big fan of long walks with my human companion, and I am super smart. Our trainer at MAS takes me over to play on the agility equipment. I also am a cuddle fanatic and love to have my belly rubbed. I get a little nervous, with small children, and may jump on them. I am not the fondest of other dogs as well.

Link is a super sweet and cuddly guy. He is really good with other dogs and older children. His D.O.B. is 8/12/15. He loves to be out and playing with other dogs. He follows his nose and will search out every inch of your backyard. He needs older children or no kids as he has a very strong love of food. So no young kids running around with lots of food would be best. He is very smart and learns quickly.

Vicky’s Pet Connection

Vicky’s Pet Connection works with the Kent County Animal Shelter to rescue cats and kittens.  They also take in dogs older in age and those needing special care. Here are their pets of the week.

Just look at those beautiful eyes! This is Paisley and she is such a pretty girl. She is part Siamese and part beauty queen!  At  just about a year old, she’s  just barely an adult so she still has plenty of silly kitten in her. She’s going to make a great friend for someone!

Carol’s Ferals

Carol’s Ferals specializes in trap, neuter, return (TNR), but they come across “friendlies” who are available for adoption. Here are their pets of the week.

Hi, I’m George Jr. I am a playful, curious boy who always wants to know what you’re doing as you can see. I was trying to find out what Karen our photographer was doing. I am super sweet and love all my friends here.

Hi, I’m Niles. I’m about 2 years old, and came to Carol’s Ferals in March 2018. I’m a shy guy, but I’m getting more and more comfortable here every day. I would do well with a family that will be patient with me and give me my own space to own and lounge around in. I love to look out windows and bird watch too!

Due to last week’s storm; we had to cancel the Valentine’s Party. The party will be this Sunday, February 17 at Carol’s Ferals, 4600 Knapp St,  2pm – 5pm. See you there!

Hearts of Hope Dog Rescue

Hearts of Hope Dog Rescue look to find dogs and sometimes cats in their care forever homes with the help of foster homes.  Here are their pets of the week.

Are you looking for a new best friend? A buddy who won’t leave your side and LOVES to snuggle? What about a boy who has boundless energy and always wants to play with his favorite people? If that’s what you’re looking for then you don’t have to look any further! My name is Boomer and I’m your new bestie! I’m a 6 month old Lab mix and I’m looking for a family that loves outdoor adventures as much as I do. I’m really friendly and love everyone, people of all ages, dogs and even kitties. But since I love adventuring so much and meeting people I need to have a fenced in yard. I’m a really good doggo and I’d love to be part of your family! His adoption fee is $250. This energetic puppy would love to be your new best friend! Leo is an 8 month old, 30 pound Staffy mix. He is potty trained and crate trained. Leo is a very playful dog, but when he calms down he is the best snuggler you will ever meet! He may take a while to warm up to you at first but once you gain his trust he will never leave your side. Leo is good with other dogs so he would do well in a home with another dog to play and cuddle with. will be neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots. His adoption fee is $200. To adopt Leo apply at www.rescueofhope.com/adoption-application/
