Furry Friday

The following animals are available for adoption.  If you find an animal you’d like to adopt please contact the organization directly.  Lowell’s First Look does not assist with the adoption process.  And if you’re looking to add to your family and don’t see an animal below, each organization has additional cats, dogs, or farm animals looking for new homes.   Pet profiles and photos are provided by each organization.

For additional information about each organization visit their websites or read our intro article to Furry Friday!

Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary

Those involved with Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary take pride in finding the right home for dogs in their care. Here are their pets of the week.

Cheerful Chaplin, is the sweetest boy. Still really a puppy, he loves to hang out with you. His D.O.B. is 8/16/16. He has lots of puppy energy, and might get into the trash can if left alone, so he would need a nice safe area if you were to be gone. He’s working on his manners and commands and seems to be a fast learner. He loves special time with his people.

Dazzling Diesel…..what a dude!! His D.O.B. is 8/23/15. He was running the streets when he was picked up by animal control. He will need a definite physically fenced yard to keep him safe, and play with his new family members. He is very playful with toys, and his people. He likes most other dogs, and would be great with older kids in the home. He can be a little mouthy when he takes treats, but with some work, will make a great addition to your family. He likes walks and just hanging out with you.

Carol’s Ferals

Carol’s Ferals specializes in trap, neuter, return (TNR), but they come across “friendlies” who are available for adoption. Here are their pets of the week.

Note from CF…  Eleanor and Megal are special needs cats (but please don’t tell them we told you).  Eleanor has been with CF since April 2013 and has pain issues due to her weight and joints.  This may be the reason she’s so cranky at times.  Megal’s right front leg was mangled and had to be amputated.  She’s just starting to trust humans, and needs a quiet, patient, loving person to adopt her.  We’ll let them tell their stories in their own way.

My full name is Eleanor Rigby, but most people call me Eleanor or Ellie.  Although I’m not what you’d call overly friendly, I have been known to sit on CHOSEN people’s laps and enjoy being loved.  Whoever adopts me will be giving me pain pills for life, but I LOVE getting them in wet food, so it’s no biggie.  People say I’ll need to lose weight because my pain may be related to my substantial size, but you don’t have to listen to them, right?  I love food.

I am Megal and came from Beirut, Lebanon.  It’s hasn’t been easy learning to hop around on three legs, especially since I am right-pawed (I try to swat at toys with my amputated stump).  I have been here almost a year, and I am just starting to trust humans.  Are you patient and willing to work with me?

Clifton here.  I am energetic, playful, and loving gray bundle.  I am FIV+, but that only means if I show signs of illness, it is important to get me checked out right away and not wait.  I can lead a normal, healthy, happy life in a loving home.  Come meet me, and I’ll charm my way into your heart!

Come introduce yourself to our kittens, play with them, and get lots of love.  It’s GREAT therapy!
