Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary

Those involved with Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary take pride in finding the right home for dogs in their care. Here are their pets of the week.

I’m Amore! I’m a a five year old collie mix. I can be pretty shy with new people and things at first, but once we’re comfortable, you’ve made a pal for life! I love hanging out and being close with people – it’s always nice to have a buddy! I’ve done well meeting kids here, and I’ve even done well on my dog and cat introductions, too.

If you’re interested in adopting me, please go to www.mackenzies.info and read about our adoption criteria. Our adoption survey and application is on our website as well. Mention me!

Amore, an adoptable Collie Mix in Lake Odessa, MI

I’m Goblin! I’m a young American Bulldog mix. My DOB is 7/8/18, so I’m not even a year old yet! For my age, I’m pretty well mannered, but I definitely still have a lot of energy, so an active family would be really great for me. At the end of the day though, I’m a lap dog at heart. I love people and love attention! I’ve done well meeting kids too (but older might be best for right now because I’m such a big dude). I’ve done well on my cat and dog intros since I’ve been here too. Fill out an application and mention me!

How about sharing your home and heart with a little black panther?  This little guy is Marcus and he has two brothers that look just like him!  They are 9 week old kittens who love to run, play and explore.  They are a little shy at first but warm up if given time.  They love to play together so why not double down and share your home with two??

Keys was rescued by Officer Keys in Tennessee. The Friends Animal Shelter in Tennessee healed him up and he was transported to MI by the Bissell Pet Foundation. He is a gentle giant who loves to snuggle, play and be with his humans. He has a mellow energy and is crate trained and house trained. He is great with children and animals and is the sweetest 70lb lap dog around. He is neutered, micro-chipped and up to date on vaccines. His adoption fee is $200. Lorna is a gorgeous 3 year old Catahoula/ Retriever Mix. She spent 2 years in the shelter and is still perfect. She has beautiful, brown brindle markings, and very kind, lovable eyes. She is house trained, crate trained and walks well on a leash. Lorna is an energetic pup who loves to learn new things. We think she would love to go to a home that will continue to teach her new things. She is very social, fun loving and quite the cuddle bug !! Lorna does well with kids and most dogs. We aren’t quite sure how she is with cats yet. We are positive that she loves to play, and that she is an amazing pup who will a home with so much love. She is going through heartworm treatment and Hearts of Hope will cover everything for that. Her adoption fee is $200. Lorna is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on shots.
