Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary

Those involved with Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary take pride in finding the right home for dogs in their care. Here are their pets of the week.

I’m Cole! I’m an Akita Mix and was born 5/5/17. If your looking for laid back, sweetheart kind of guy, look no further. I have really come out of my shell since I started physical therapy. I’m also working with more volunteers which helps a ton. I was so scared to get into a car and now they take me offsite to experience the world in a positive light, I even get ice cream treats. I can be shy of new people and new situations, but with the help of my human friends I am starting to understand that people and things aren’t as scary as what I thought. When we become friends, we will be for life. If you had time to come out and meet me on several different occasions that would really help establish the bond I want and deserve.

I’m Auggie! I’m a one and a half year old English Bulldog (my DOB is 11/30/17). I love being around people whether it’s going for walks or just hanging out in an office.I would do best in a home without any other dogs. I’m looking for a family that enjoys spending time outside on walks or playing in the yard. If you like being on the go, fill out an application and mention me!

Vicky’s Pet Connection

Vicky’s Pet Connection works with the Kent County Animal Shelter to rescue cats and kittens.  They also take in dogs older in age and those needing special care. Here are their pets of the week.

Check out this handsome guy! This is “Squire” and he is a 4 month old sweetie looking for a new place to hang his hat! He’s a friendly and affectionate guy with a happy disposition. He arrived at our local shelter with a short haircut (we have no idea why since he is already a short-haired cat!) so, right now, he looks very unique. It’s growing in nicely, though, and he is going to be a gorgeous black panther with a little white spot on his heart!

Hearts of Hope Dog Rescue

Hearts of Hope Dog Rescue look to find dogs and sometimes cats in their care forever homes with the help of foster homes.  Here are their pets of the week.

Cooper is a one year old lab/husky mix. He is very affectionate and playful! He is crate trained, house trained and knows many basic commands, we’re working on leash manners though (he’s just too excited and playful!). He gets along great with other dogs (not sure about cats) and he loves people, young children can make him a little nervous though. He is up to date on vaccines and will soon be microchipped and neutered. His adoption fee is $200. To adopt Cooper apply at www.rescueofhope.com/adopt

Gracie is a one year old Lab/Staffy Mix who is notorious in the Midwest for having the most amazing ears imaginable !! She also has a wonderful smile, and she loves to show it off. This gorgeous pup is recovering from a skin condition so all of her fur has not grown in but she has a very special place in our hearts. She has a very unique and kind personality that is only surpassed by her gentle spirit. Gracie is house trained and crate trained, and it’s rumored she knows 11 languages !! She can’t wait to fill her forever home with love and laughter. Gracie is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on shots. His adoption fee is $200. To adopt this angel apply at www.rescueofhope.com/adoption-application
