Hi there, I’m Averie! I hear people-pleasing is supposed to be exhausting…but not for me! Being the young lady that I am, my potential is as high as your dedication. It is very satisfying to utilize this beautiful brain I have to make my friends (and my future family) happy. I won’t lie to you; I can be a bit stubborn at times, but positive reinforcement and consistency will help me become the best version of myself.

You’ll often find me splashing around in the pond here at MAS, getting my toes wet and having a blast. Toys are my absolute favorite, and I can’t get enough of them. I’m always up for some fun and games, and I’d love a family that’s just as active as I am. Who needs a television when you could have me to keep you entertained! My excitement is expressed in such a dorky way. I like to zoom around and try my best to impersonate a professional contortionist by folding over like a pretzel with my behind in the air! Because I can be a bit overzealous with my energy, I might be best suited for older children who have a sturdy stance.

I’m really excited to play with other dogs too, and a furry friend who enjoys a bit of rough-and-tumble would be perfect. But on a quick note—cats and I have agreed to a mutual “no thanks” policy. Let’s just say, I’m not a fan of their sassy attitudes and they don’t appreciate my enthusiasm. Meeting new people can make me a little unsure at first, but give me a moment, and I’ll warm up to you. Once I do, I’m like a breath of fresh air, bringing positivity and joy wherever I go. If you’re looking for a spirited, fun-loving companion who will keep you on your toes and fill your days with laughter, I’m your girl.

Don’t wait too long—if you like it, then you should put a collar on it! Take the first step by submitting your adoption application at the MAS website below, and let’s get this party started!

Sam is a 7 pound, 8 year old Chihuahua Mix with the most adorable face. Although he looks kinda sad, he is actually happier than Homer Simpson in line at Dizzy Doughnuts. Also, his ears look like an old taxi-cab driving down the street with its doors open. Precious. Sam is a wonderful little ball of cuteness; he is going to fill a very lucky home with so much love. Sam is create trained, and he does well with respectful dogs. Sam is neutered and up to date on shots. His adoption fee is $175.

Second Chance Cats of West Michigan

Second Chance Cats is a 501(c)3 non-profit with a mission to help cats at municipal shelters who are at risk for euthanasia or were deemed unadoptable because of behavioral or medical issues. The group also works with other private rescues that are overcrowded and helps rehome cats that have been assessed as friendly when going through the trap-neuter-return process.  Here is their pet of the week.

Other cats, children.

Meet Agatha, a petite, black panther with a head tilt which adds to her charm. Agatha is shy but curious. She will allow finger sniffs but isn’t sure of pets. She loves to look out windows and likes to explore her room. She is very observant, always aware of what’s happening in the room. She is quiet and gets along well with her plentiful roommates. She has a good appetite, loves her wet food and Churu. She also is great about using the litterbox. We know Agatha needs a special adopter, willing to work with her, gain trust, and appreciate her for who she is. We believe all cats deserve a chance for a forever home and so hope there is a home for Agatha.

Agatha has been spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. Agatha has an approximate birthdate of 10/26/22 yet, we suspect she may be a bit older. Agatha’s adoption fee is $95.
