Sassy, single and ready to mingle!
I’m looking for my human soulmate. My ideal bestie will be encouraging (because I can be a slight bit shy sometimes), playful (because I LOVE to zoom around and play with my person instead of toys), and always ready for a sweet snuggle with a roughly 45lb lap dog.
It is a bit ironic and sort of funny that my name is Dottie, when I am in fact striped, don’t you think? I would say that type of irony fits my personality though. I am, after all, a goofy gal! Thankfully, my love of snacks motivates me when it is serious ‘time to practice training’ time. Which I guess, when you think about it, is kind of a game…and I do love games with my bestie! Speaking of my bestie, a few more ideal qualities for me would be patience (with some yummy treats for my training games), adventurous (because I love going for walks and admiring nature’s vast array of smells), and loyal (because I am looking for a BFF, emphasis on the second F for forever!). Having kids to play with would be a bonus too, honestly.
If I sound like the furry soulmate match you have been looking for, submit your adoption application at the MAS website below!

Meet Tootie, an approximately 7 year old, 8 pound chihuahua who appreciates the finer things in life like soft beds, warm sunny spots, sitting on a lap or being carried around by her person! She would make a lovely companion to someone who lives a quieter life, who maybe enjoys gardening or other at-home activities; she loves being out in the yard keeping an eye on the squirrels while you work on projects. Tootie is fairly independent and doesn’t beg for attention, but will happily accept affection and loves to snuggle on the couch. She currently shares a home with cats and does well coexisting with them. She would thrive as an only pet in the home, but could potentially live with another smaller dog so long as it’s calm like her, as she doesn’t appreciate riffraff and isn’t looking to make new friends. She really just wants to be ignored by other animals, and be doted on by “her people”. Tootie is up to date on vaccines, spayed, microchipped and her adoption fee is $175.

Second Chance Cats is a 501(c)3 non-profit with a mission to help cats at municipal shelters who are at risk for euthanasia or were deemed unadoptable because of behavioral or medical issues. The group also works with other private rescues that are overcrowded and helps rehome cats that have been assessed as friendly when going through the trap-neuter-return process. Here is their pet of the week.

GOOD IN A HOME WITH
Children, other cats
Meet Mamba, a sleek, sweet girl with striking green eyes, who came to Second Chance from a hoarding situation with 8 other kittens, some of whom are her siblings. Mamba was well cared for in her home but after the number of cats swelled to 25, the owner who was in failing health was no longer able to care for them.
Mamba can be shy but accepts and likes pets, leaning in for more when given with a slow approach. She tends to like a cubby as she feels safe there but has been venturing out into her room more where she has shown a bit of a silly side. We know over time and given a patient, loving adopter, Mamba will become less shy, her personality becoming more evident every day. This beautiful little goddess is ready for a home of her own! Mamba does well with other cats so would be good in a friendly, quieter multi-cat home.
We believe that kittens are happiest when they have a feline friend so Mamba will need to be adopted with another kitten here like one of her mates Fiona or Hellebore or go to a home with an existing, gentle but playful cat.
Mamba has been spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $120. Mamba has an approximate birthdate of 06/01/24.
