Meet Hero – a lovable, larger-than-life pup looking for his very own hero! Don’t be fooled by his photos; Hero is a whopping 75-80 pounds of pure, giant puppy energy! This sweet guy is seeking someone with experience in handling large breeds to help guide him toward mastering his manners and leash skills. If you’re ready to be leaned on (literally – he’s a “lean in for love” kind of guy), you’re in for plenty of affection.
Hero loves exploring the yard, lounging on the couch, and gnawing away at his favorite chewy bones. He thinks playtime should be an ongoing event, but he’s learning that it’s important to mind his p’s and q’s. With a strong prey drive, Hero is not the right fit for a home with kitties or small animals. He’s lived with other dogs in the past, so any dog introductions will be required to make sure your dog is just as into Hero as you are!
Despite being a lot to handle at times, Hero is a sweet, bright boy who’s all about earning a snack or two! He’s motivated by tasty treats and thrives with consistency – whether that’s in training, patience, or love. Hero is patiently waiting for someone to be his guiding hero and bring him home. Could that hero be you?
Apply to adopt Hero at the MAS website below – you won’t regret it!

Second Chance Cats is a 501(c)3 non-profit with a mission to help cats at municipal shelters who are at risk for euthanasia or were deemed unadoptable because of behavioral or medical issues. The group also works with other private rescues that are overcrowded and helps rehome cats that have been assessed as friendly when going through the trap-neuter-return process. Here is their pet of the week.

Children, other cats
Meet Tang, a sweet, demure, super soft, orange and white fella who was found trying to survive in an auto body shop. With no home to call his own, Tang made his way to Second Chance. For those of you who remember Tang, a sweet, instant breakfast drink that was loved by children and astronauts alike, our Tang is even better!
Tang is still learning he is safe and he can trust people. Even though Tang is quiet, he likes pets, will lean in for more and place his paw on your arm if you try to stop. He also has a wonderful purr. He is very gentle and adorable. Tang will continue to build his confidence while in the care of Second Chance until his perfect adopter finds him. That adopter will go slow, provides lots of encouragement, lots of yummy wet food (his favorite) and lots of pets. Tang will continue to blossom and show his true self. What he has shown so far has melted our hearts and he will melt yours, too.
Tang has been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. Tang has an approximate birthdate of 02-14-24. Tang’s adoption fee is $95.
